Admission time – 7:30am
Back in room – 10:25am
I’ll try and keep it short as the day seemed to go quite quickly.
So arrived at Highgate at about 7:20am and had to fill out a short form, confirmed name and date of birth then sat back down and waited for a bit.
Was then taken to my room (204) and was showed what everything was and what number to dial if I needed anything.
Flicked through a few magazines with my sister in law and then the nurse (Esther, the best nurse ever) came in to see me and confirmed all my details and confirmed I wasn’t allergic to anything.
Mr Adamo came in about 5 mins later and done a little doodle on me and took some pictures. Then about 20 mins later the anaesthetist came in to see me and I was told I was first on the list.
Esther came back in and I had to put on my lovely paper knickers and stockings….phwoar….sexy….LOL
I went to the toilet to do a pregnancy test and they were ready for me. Walked down to theatre with Esther and then the anaesthtist took over, was having a great conversation about ages and then I was knocked out.
Next thing I knew my name was being called and I was in recovery, could not get my eyes open but managed a mmmmm.
Went back to my room and was shaking like crazy (it was just annoying after a while) then after about an hour I was drinking tea and was really hot so had to have the cover taken off me.
Felt a bit sick so Esther came and gave me a very painfull injection in my bum….OOOOOUUUUCCCCCHHHHHHHH…but eased the sickness.
Was then able to have a little something to eat from the munchies I bought with me.
Dinner then came about 5, finished it off and was then ready to go but had to wait for Mr Adamo to see me.
Not too long after, in he came and had a quick look and said everything was fine.
As I started getting dressed Esther came in and she was upset as she thought I was going to try and leave without seeing her….not without my meds.
She then fetched my meds for me and I was off.
It was all over too quickly, had a really lovely experience at Highgate.
3 days PO and still no pain…YET.
