Hey girlies, I’m sat in my hospital room writing this now, can’t wait to share my story and put all you pre-op girlies at ease.
My admission time was 6am so we got here a bit before and I was shown up to my room, which is lovely-en suite bathroom, tv etc and its very big!! A nurse then came to go thru some paperwork and give my my sexual panties, gown and stckings. About an hour later the very smiley, lovely happy mr K cam to see me to make sure I was okay and draw on my fried eggs (bless them, they are no more now!!) And was shortly followed by my anaesthetist who is one of the lovelyest men ever, so smiley and friendly. He had a chat with me, asked me a few routine qs then said he’d see me later.
At around five to 8, my nurse came in and asked me if I was ready and walked me up to theatre. My anaesthatist was having a good old sing along which made me laugh and put me at ease. The cannula went in (not at all painful jus a sharp scratch-anaesthetists have done thousands in their life so they’re very swift at it) he gave me one set of meds that made me feel woozy then another set and bang I was out!!
Next thing I kno I’m waking up in recovery with a lovely lady there who gave me some morphine. My chest jus felt tight as tho I had angina! Lol. I go wheeled back to my room in no pain or anythin. I had a sneaky look at my two new friends and they don’t look big at all (which I’m happy abput) I’m very tightly strapped up so can’t really see what they’re like. My boyfriend was so suprised that I wasn’t feelin any pain at all.
I expected the pain to kick in as the meds wore off but if anything everything has got loads better. The tightness has gone and to be honest I don’t even feel as tho I’ve had anything done. I feel so relaxed and chilled its unreal. Everyone was worrying about me but there was no need. I feel I could go home and carry on as normal!!
I have a drain either side but yoiu can’t even feel them at all. They will be removed in the morning. The nurses are lovely, can’t do enough for me. I was offered my meal around 6ish but I felt a lil queazy and couldn’t bear the thought of a 3 course meal. But that’s my only symptom. I’ve jus managed some toast now and this has taken my queazyness away, kinda wish I’d had somethin earlier!
So that’s me… Goin home in the mornin a v happy girl. If anyone has any qs jus ask me and ill be happy to help xx
