Well after waking up every hour with excitement and nerves i finally gave up trying to sleep at about 5:30am and lay awake in bed thinking OMG this day has finally arrived, i am finally going to have boobies!! So 6:30am arrived and my alarm went off and i went to get my shower, stayed in there for ages knowing it would be my last one for a while. I had packed my bag the night before and since i wasn’t allowed to put any make up etc on i was ready in about half an hour.
Set off just before 7:30am to get to First Trust for 8:30am and got shown to my room straight away. Then 10 mins later the nurse came in to do all my pre op forms and obs, she was called Andrea and was lovely, had another nurse too I think she was called Caroline, I could be wrong though, but she was lovely too lol. The anaesthetist came in too and did his checks, i got my tags on my wrists, one with my name, dob and hospital number on and another to say i have a nut allergy, my bp taken and my weight etc. I got told Mr Traynor usually comes in around 10am and would be in to see me then. I got asked if i was nervous and was quite surprised when my honest answer was no, just excited. Think i’d used all my nervous energy up the night before.
Sure enough about 10:15am Mr T arrived and did his artwork on my chest. I agreed on 465/415cc and even then i wasn’t completely sure but he assured me that would look good on my frame and after telling me I was second on the list off he went. The nurses came to get me at about 11:45am and took me down to theatre. They were really friendly there and were chatting to me right till i went to sleep. The anaesthetist said he was going to give me something to relax, like a tipple of g&t…i felt hammered! lol. Next thing i knew i was being asked to roll over onto my bed, dont even remember being in recovery. That was about 1pm. Heard the nurse say to my boyfriend don’t look so worried she is fine, it went really well, bless him!
First thing i did was go straight to cop a feel! Haha. Thought they were bit small at first but after looking a couple of times since they definitely aren’t! The GA made me feel pretty sick and spaced out and i slept most of the afternoon. Had some tea and toast about 3ish then went back to sleep. I missed out on dinner so the nurses asked me if i wanted some tea at about 5pm. Had heinz tomato soup, a chicken dinner and then ice cream, was hard to eat but thought it would make me feel better from the GA. Mr T came to see me after my soup and said he had put in 485cc and 415cc, i was a bit shocked at that but i trust his judgement and he knows best. He said cos of the bigger implant my left boobie is sitting a bit higher and is more swollen but it will even out. Its not that noticeable really.
I had another snooze and got discharged at 8pm, was home by half past and got into bed. Was still very queezy from the GA and was a bit sicky which made me feel miles better. Had to be in the brand new en suite sink though didn’t it?! Not in much pain, just a bit achey and feel like i have something strange attached to my chest but i absolutely love my new additions and would do it again tomorrow! Pre-op girls dont worry, op day itself is a breeze, i loved it! Also, get a v-pillow, they are amazing!
