i got up at 5.30 and had a quick body shower, i washed my hair and packed my bag ready the night before. we set of at 6am as not to getr caught by the morning traffic, luckily we timed the journey perfectly and arrived at highgate hospital at 9 on the dot, which was my admission time.
soon after checking in, a lady showed me to my room and we made ourselves comfortable. I was so lucky to have my best freind with me who has been through it all already so she knew exactly what i was going to expect. if you can help it there is no point getting yourself worked up. they are all really professional there and you are in the safest hands possible. enjoy the day, its an exciting experience to go through.
the anethatist comes and asked me some questions, and the nurse soon after.
then my surgeon comes in to draw on me and have a little chat.
at 10.45 the lovely nurse came to collect me and we walk down to the operation theatre, i would take snuggly slippers with you as it is really cold now. you can wera them down to theatre.
they told me to make myself comfortable and then they put the needle in my arm and oxygen mask on, at that ppoint i was a little scared but they talk everything through with you and i just thought of nice things while they put me to sleep.
next thing im awake feeling pretty high from the morphine, the nurse sits by me the whole time and they wait 15 mins before wheeling me back to my room, where my freind is waitiing for me.
i rest for a little longer and then have some toast and tea, also try and eat something sugary like chocolate it brings your levels up quicker.
by 3 i was feeling fine and was ready to go home. my surgeon came in to check on me and said that i was ready to go when i wanted so i asked the nurse but she said i had to wait till 4.
then we set off home and that was my excotong day getting my new boobies.
if i could give one peice of advice it would be not to get yourself worked up, just try and enjoy it. see everything as a new exciting experience! xxxx
