I arrived at Highgate at 6:45am ish, very early as my admission time was 8:30!! I thought the traffic was going to be horrendous but it was clear & only took 10 mins to get there!
I sat in reception for about 20 mins before being taken to my room (315), which was HUGE & spotlessly clean.
Nurse came in to ask me about previous surgery etc,take my blood pressure, weight, height & give me a pregnancy test(which was negative thank god!!)& measure me for the sexy stockings.
I think I was supposed to be maybe 2nd or 3rd on the list but as I was there first Dr Singh came in to see me at about 7:30am to draw on me & take pics etc. He said he would do his best to fit the 700cc, but if not he would have to put in the 615cc which I agreed to. He then told me to put my gown on as I was first in(at which point I almost crapped myself! Didn’t expect to be first at all!!).
The aneasthetist came in & introduced himself, can’t remember his name, but he was a hilarious japanese guy(he really calmed my nerves as he was so upbeat & funny!, he told me he’d be back in about half hour.
At about 8:25 another nurse came to collect me & took me down to the anaesthetic room where there was another nurse who grew up just down the road from my house(which made me feel at home lol!!).I wasn’t nervous at all, despite having not slept all night considering chickening out of the whole procedure! I was having a good old chin wag with them all, & next thing I know I can taste the most revolting taste in my throat & don’t remember anything else.
I woke up at 10:00am on the dot, shivering like mad & my teeth were chattering like crazy. The first thing I did was pull my top down & have a good look!! I couldn’t get my words out properly as my teeth were chattering so much, but after about 2 mins I managed to ask if I had the 700 or 615, but I think I fell back to sleep before I got an answer as I don’t remember much after that apart from waking back up about 10:30 again in the recovery room! I was still completely out of it & they asked if I wanted to go back to my room, which I said yes to. They wheeled my bed up in the lift & I burst into tears with happiness looking at my boobs!! Apparently (so my husband tells me!) I flashed my boobs at all the nursing staff on the way into my room & asked about size again!! It was confirmed he fitted the 700cc & I was over the moon!!
I was in quite alot of pain at this point as all the shivering had tensed my body up & made my boobs very sore, but I was immediately given some pain killers which kicked in after about 15 mins & the pain was alot more manageable.
The nurse said I probably wouldn’t feel like eating, but being a foodie I said I was hank marvin & had toast & coffee, followed by my lunch about 1/2 hour later!!
I was in & out of sleep for a while & had to ask the nurse to help me get up for a wee & had a good old look in the mirror at my new additions. They looked huge compared to when I was sat down & me & my hubbie were having a good old giggle at them & checking out my sexy paper knickers when in walks Dr Singh(with a very suprised look on his face – cringe!!) He said ‘WOW!!!, the surgery went very well!” I thanked him & said I loved them & he left to go back down to surgery.
I rested for a while & had a walk around the grounds as advised by the nurse, I couldn’t believe how fine I felt compared to a couple of hours ago & was discharged about 2:00pm. The nurse helped me do my hair as my husband gave me a sidesweep ponytail & left half my hair down(he has since learnt how to do a ponytail lol!), I picked up my prescription & went back to my hotel.
I was in abit of pain in the evening, but the painkillers really helped & started working aout 15 mins after taking them. I didn’t sleep well that evening as my hips & back were aching from getting used to sleeping upright.
The drive back to bristol was fine, I had a v pillow behind me & one in front of me & managed to have a good sleep on the way home.
Apart from my stress at the messy house & inconsiderate step mum on arriving home(!!) I have managed to have a good 12 hours sleep last night & got myself dressed this morning & done my make up.
I feel suprisingly well for having just had surgery & would recommend it to anyone, it really has made me much happier already.
I’ve had a few snide remarks from family & friends, but I really couldn’t care less as they are obviously jealous & opinionated!
