Hey girls! sorry its taken me so long to write my story up, only been on the forum on my phone and it would have taken wayyyy to long to type it up on that!
We travelled down to Manchester on the monday night. We stayed at the travel lodge sports city, just 5 mins drive from the hospital. If anyone is going to manchester for your op I would recommend this hotel, its simple but clean, and only cost us £19 per night cos we booked as soon as i got my date.
My admission time was 11am, I woke up about 9, watched some tv and slowly got ready. I didnt really feel any nerves! The night before my op we’d drove to the hosp so we werent paniking trying to find it on the morn. Got there quite early, and was greeted by a lovely receptionist. She explained that my room wasn’t ready yet, and gave me some forms to fill in while waiting. after about 20 minutes a friendly man came to show me to my room, he even carried my bag bless him.
I had my own room with staying overnight and it was fab! so clean and modern. I filled out my lunch dinner and brekkie menus. After about 30 mins a nurse came to go through me medical history, check my weight, blood pressure tempreture etc. She said my surgeon, mr traynor, and the anestheist would be along to see me later.
Mr traynor came to see me about 2pm. He checked the size implant i’d chosen. I explained i wanted to be a c/d, and he said 300 unders would be perfect for me. My stats are 5ft4, size 8 and i was a 32a. He then drew on me and said he’d see me shortly. About 30 mins later the aneastheist came to see me, asked me a few questions. He said i was second on the list and i would be taken down in about an hour.
At 4 pm the nurse knocked on my door and said they were ready for me! I walked down to the aneasthic room, and was fine til i got on the bed! Id had no nerves really up until that point! i’d never had a GA before and i was scared! My knees were shaking so so much! The staff were all lovely, the nurses were talking away to me trying to calm me down i think! The aneastheist put the needle in the back of my hand, then some antibiotics which were really cold! He said he was going to put a cocktail in next, which would make me feel drunk. Asking what my fave drink was, Id barely had time to reply ‘malibu and coke’ before the room was spinning! Last thing i remember was going ‘ i dont like this i dont like this’ before waking up what felt like a second later! it was a full hour though! I asked the nurse if everything had gone ok, cos i really felt like i hadnt been out long enough for anything to have been done! I was then took up to my room and drifted in and out of sleep for about an hour, before trying to have a drink of water. I kept been sick, so they gave me an anti sickness in the back on my hand. within 20 mins of having this i was eating biccies and drinking tea, and had a full meal not long after.
The nurses kept an eye on me closely all through the night, checking on me every 30 mins for ages then further apart later on. They gave me paracetamol through the night, and a cup of tea! mr traynor came to see me again the next morning. he was happy with how i was doing. i was then discharged and left the hosptial about half 9, took me a while to get my clothes on!
The first few days were hard, i was in now pain but alot of discomfort. I couldn’t even flush the loo myself it really hurt!!! day 5 I was starting to feel more like me, and each day i’m managing to do more for myself. I had a few days last week of feeling really blue but the girls on the forum helped me alot : ) Mr traynor doesnt like his patients wearing bras so i have no idea what size i am yet!!
All in all my experience from the first consultation at mya to the discharge at the hospital had been great. The only tiny complaint i have is that i didnt get taken to theatre until 4pm but had to be at the hospital for 11am. I couldnt eat from 6 hours before my admission time, the last thing i had to eat was 8pm the night before so i was starving all day! It made the day really long as i normally eat when im bored!! Apart from that i have absolutley nothing bad to say about my experience with MYA, mr traynor and the manchester lifestyle hospital

thats good to hear. i am waiting for a consultation for mine doing. how long is it now since you had them done. would you recommend having them done??? i am scared of all the pain afterwards, and the time i may have to take off work. do you have any advice?? thanks
claire
hi Hun , any idea which surgeon your going to go with? I’m about 12 days post now it’s flown over! its up to you whether you get it done or not cos it’s such a personal thing, all I can say is I’m so so happy I did! been so unhappy with my flat chest for as long as I can remember and now I’ve actually got some boobs! the pain wasn’t bad at all, I would say I hardly had any it was more discomfort than anything, and it’s hard doing the little things for yourself, like sitting up in bed and flushing the toilet proved really hard! I’ve actually got 6 weeks off but that’s due to me leaving work and starting uni. i think the amount of time
you take off work depends on how physical your job is, what do you do? and what are your stats/size you’d like to be?
xx
Hey rachel
Congratulations on your new twins!!

xx
Yeah, they were all lovely, I loved the experience. Me and my friend just stayed in a hotel around the corner.
Ah, sooooo pleased you’re loving you new boobs!! I love mine too; sooooo pleased I got them done. I’m size 12, 5ft 11, I was 36 c and I had 460’s. I’m wearing 35f now which sounds huge but they’re just the right size for my frame.
Have you had your tapes off then? Have you took any photos? xx
had the dressings off and just got tiny tape over the incisions- problem is there’s something leaking! like a clear yellow colour! I need to ring tomorrow for my appt with the surgeon so I’m gunna ask what it might be : s
ah I wish I could carry off that size! I’d loved to have gone bigger!
xx
Hi Rachel, congratulations on your new boobs! Did you have drains? It still be a bit of harmless fluid leaking, I’m pretty sure its normal but you are best calling just incase! Let me know how it goes, I’m looking forward to the next couple of weeks to fly by so I can have a proper look at mine
xxx
hi deb I didn’t have drains no. I’m sure it’ll be harmless but I’m not going to lie I’m a little worried! I’ll let you know what they say tomorrow. when did you have yours? xx
Hi Rachael
Could you please tell me what brand of implant you have and what are your current stats. I am 5 5″, 8 stone and size. It has been suggested that i have either a 310cc or 340cc allergan implant. I am crrently 30b and want to be a full 32D/ 30DD.
Thanking you
Sophie
hi sophie sorry just seen your post today! im not sure what the brand is its just whatever the standard ones are. I’m now a 32dd in most shops, occasionly a 30dd or 32e in some but id say 32dd! so id say 310 will maybe make you bigger that a dd cos i was smaller than you and had smaller inplants. are you having unders or overs? xx
