    Hi All,

Well here goes…. Was up at 05:45am having my some Weetabix and a cuppa. Left for preston at about 09:15am. The M6 is the most God awful motorway I have ever encounted!!! Scary!!

Arrives and first trust at about 11:45 and was showed to my room. Was weighed and BP taken (118/84!). Was given my gown, stockings and paper pants..all really comfy to be honest (still wearing my stockings now lol). The anaesthetist came in and checked my over and said don’t worry its quick, you’ll be out and when you wake up bam (to which he did a hand gestures to his chest with made me laugh)

Was told Dr T would be in at about 3pm but myself and Jesscarabbit knew this wasn’t the case as she was told that she’d be down for surgery at 15:30 lol so don’t take not notice of times…the surgeon will come when he comes!

Dr T came in and drew on me, can’t remember what time he came in. Then about 17:30 I was walked to theatre!! I lay on the bed and I could hear Jessiacrabbit in recovery.. being very polite and brave, bless her. They couldn’t find the anaesthetist so I was waiting for a while and it was blumming freeeezing! When he came in he asked if I was feeling ok and I said yes, I think he could tell I was scared to death as I looked like a rabbit in headlights lol. He and the nurse then tried to put the needle in my hand, couldn’t find a vain so they were wiggling and it hurt  The nurse said oh we are putting a drip in because you haven’t had anything to eat or drink, so I thought oh its not happening yet but nooooo she tricked me because then she said you should be a off in a mo  then that dreadful taste and…OUT! Woke up in recovery, cant remember much, just grabbing for the nurses had a lot lol. I hate the mask they give you, makes feel like I suffocating!!

Got back to my room and tried to go for a wee on my own, my partner said I was saying I’ll be ok I can do it lol little did I know I was dripped up to the eyeballs and the side of my bed was up haha.

TIP: The worst thing was sleeping sitting up, make sure you take a couple of extra pillows as well as your v pillow because I found my back wasn’t supported enough and was hurting!!

I stupidly left my alarm on to go off at 05:30am what an idiot haha.

Woke up had some tea and toast, throat was killing (still is) and my ears need to pop :-S anyone else had that? Jessicarabbit popped in and we had a nice chat which was lovely…thanks for hun.

Still by this point I hadn’t dared look full frontal lol..have now and am happy so far. Dr T popped in had a fiddle with them and said he was happy and if I have any problems to not hesitate to call, truly lovely man.

Bra on pills packed…38F bra at the mo, they look massive :|

I’m home now, feel a bit tight and a bit stingy but already have feeling back in my nipples yay!!

Thanks for all your support ladies, next step healing. Tina as usual you have been a godsend xxx.

Apologies for the essay lol!! Hope nikinoo and Jessica are feeling ok? xxx

Thanks for sharing :). Less than 3 weeks for me, I’m at the same hospital so good to know the care is good. I’m dreading my GA as I’m a nurse and have taken loads of patients to theatre, and know what happens, trying not to think about it! Happy healing, keep us posted on your recovery :) Xx

Ah it’s funny reading your story because ours are so similar! Even down to what the anaesthatist said! It was lovely to meet you and glad to hear you’re home and resting. My pain has come on like a wave and just chowing down some of the meds to help. Keep in touch and let us know how you’re getting on! x

Will do babes. I hope you’re OK chic, I have been overlapping meds every 3 hours at the mo. Not looking forward to sleeping up right again.

I hope your fella was OK after I said he better look after you lol James told me off saying you can’t say that to someone you’ve only just met!! Really sorry. xxx

Hahaha don’t worry about that at all, if you knew him he is very sarcastic I’d have expected him to say something similar! He was a medic for the marines for 5 years so I’m getting the full treatment here at home and taking full advantage of it! I think I might take some more too, not gonna get a medal for battling through without them! Yeah the sleeping upright is a total ballache x
