Just though I would share my story with you all on this forum!
I was due to have my BA on the 11.11, but because of overbooking/over-running it had to be postponed until the following morning. At the time I thought it was the end of the world (the nerves and emotion got the better of me), but the guys at Highgate said I could stay that night and the following night after my op free if charge, and then they looked after me brilliantly the night before my op. MYA were also fantastic, especially my patient advisor Amanda who called me several times quite late into the night of the 11th to check I was ok and even sent me flowers after my op to apologise for the inconvenience.
The only downside was that it then meant that my Mum could not be with me for my first op/general anaesthetic, and no-one could pick me up on the Friday post op. (MYA sorted that though by getting me a Chauffer driven Merc back to my parents!). SO anyway – the story!
I was most nervous about the GA, and so when I having it administered (by the lovely anaesthetist man) I think I was fighting it a bit! I remember thinking ‘I am going to give really good answers to the questions that he is asking me ‘…. that didn’t last long as I was soon under! If I could go back and do it again I would relax, close my eyes, breathe slow and wait for it to happen. It was nothing to worry about after all :bigsmile:
When I woke up, like everyone else I couldn’t believe it was over and done with! I looked down at my new boobies and was so pleased that despite the swelling they were not too big (I should never have doubted the wonderful Mr Adamo!). For the rest of the day I was not in too much pain, though I did feel a little jaded. The worst part of it for me was the canular in my hand. I have a big vein phobia, and I was desperate for them to take it out. It hurt and was making me feel ill to look at it. (Think I had created this huge problem with it mainly in my head!). They wanted to keep it for as long as possible in case I needed anti-sickness meds, but 12 hours post op, and having kept my dinner down they finally took it out. I could have cried with joy! The lovely nurse Catherine gave me some painkillers and sleeping tablets and I had an amazing night’s sleep…. and I have done ever since!
I am really pleased with my new assets already, they already are starting to look natural (exactly what I wanted) and 410’s were the perfect size, I should never have worried. The whole experience was great and I would not change one thing about it from the Highgate to Mr Adamo, and MYA everyone was so supportive.
