hia girlies, thought id share my story with you all as i know how much it helped me, so here i go…
i first had a consultation with MYA arond 18 months ago but couldnt afford it at the time so have been saving ever since. Had another consultaion with Lizzi my PC on the 20th Jan – because of how long i had been waiting already i booked my BA straight away for 8th Feb!! i was sooo excited but still didnt feel real, even when i was at the hospital and going down to theatre i dont think it had sunk in haha!
My addmission time was 7.30 am at the Manchester Lifestyle hopsital. i got taken to my room straight away, which was lovely and spacious wi an en-suite bathroom. The nurse came to see me around 8am and took my blood pressure and oxygen levels etc.. all fine! swiftly followed by my surgeon, Mr Mahdi. He took pictures from all angles and then drew all over me. He double checked i was still ok with everything and checked i was still happy with 525cc – i had to sign the consent form for 525cc and 460cc jst incase 525’s were too big when they were in.. which made me panic big time because i really wanted as big as possible!!
i was told i would be second on the list so wouldnt have long to wait – so watched GMTV etc – 10.30am i still hadnt been taken down so was starting to get resless and id chewed off all my nails without realising haha! nurse came to collect me about 10.40am to take me down to anesthetic – the anesthetic lady was absoltely lovely reaaaally put me at ease, had quite a nice chat with her actually. she explained the reason why it had taken so long for me to be called down was because lady before me had taken quite some time in recovery. then the anesthetic guy came in.. it was my turn, was very scared then and remember shiverring loads and i wasnt even cold lol!
i hardly felt the needle going in for the canula. i gave blood at end of last year and that hurt miles more and i dont mind needles. was just a small scratch really! he injected anti sickness at first which made my whole body go numb like id been for a massive run, then he injected the pre anesthetic.. omgosh felt like i was going to be sick and couldnt stop coughing, the nurse said shed not really seen that happen before but anesthetic man said it was quite common.
that knocked me out before he’d even put the anestheic in lol im such a lightweight – i remember the clock said 11.10am
next thing clock said 12.30!!! i woke up when they pulled the tube out my throat and i could see the nurse writing on the desk – first thing i asked.. ”do i have 525 boobs?!?” haha and i did yipeeeee! i must have spaced out again because i woke up again and i was in my room. my mum told me id been in recovery for half and hour and operation only took 40 minutes.
there was no pain at first just felt really heavy – i went in and out of sleep for next few hours then felt quite achy all of a sudden so had some morphine tablets which made me really drowsy. when i woke up again i was STARVING!!! so the nurse asked for my food to be brought up. i had ordered some melon and a jacket potatoe. it looked and smelt soooo yummy but after one mouthfull i felt so sick
so my dad tucked into that, i was very jelous! i just wanted water because the tube had made my throat really dry. managed to eat my melon after was nice and refreshing.
at about 6pm Mr Mahdi came to see me and checked them out, gave them a good poke… OUCH and said they were gorgeous yay!! the nurse said when i was ready i could go. for the next hour and a half i kept on trying to get out of bed but as soon as i did i went really lightheaded and a wave of sickness came over me. finally at 8 i really needed the loo so i had to get out of bed, managed to get dressed and felt ok. so my dad went to bring the car outside the front door and make it nice and warm. me and my mum were waiting for the lift and woooooshhh… sick! everywhere haha! but then i felt brilliant was sooo strange!!
car journey was uncomfortable going home but my v-pillow helped loads, definately recommend that one!
didnt really sleep well last night kept having to get up for the loo which took me ages – you really cant use your arms at all to push yourself up, its so akward! at about 1am i was very sore so had to take some painkillers which eased it off.
my new boobies look fab! i cant stop looking at them
very swollen and under my armpits which is were its most sore because my arms keep knocking them. they feel like they are going to fall off when i stand up, very weird feeling thats hard to explain!
iv ranted on for ages now but just wanted to tell everything. the staff at manchester are brilliant, soooo friendly and will do anything for you! i already cant wait to have a shower, still got iodine and marker pen all over me!
thanks for listening.. il be having a kip now, its made# but writing this has took it out of me
