Hi thought i would write my story as i loved reading everyone else’s and found them very helpful.

BA with Mr Traynor through MYA, 525cc overs.

My admission time was 12, got up at about 9ish hubby let me have a lie in and got up with the kids. Couldn’t have a brew which i was gutted about so didn’t have anything. Had my last shower :-( and washed my hair, set off about half 11 as the hospital was only 20 minutes away, wasn’t nervous at all.

Arrived at about 11.50am, filled some paperwork in then went to my room for about 12.15. Nurses came in about half past and checked through all my details and did my weight and blood pressure. About 10 minutes later the anaethetist came in explained a few things then Mr Traynor came in and drew on me. He was really nice and was joking around which made me feel really comfortable and put me at ease, still didn’t feel nervous. I then put on my gown and paper knickers which wasn’t very nice as i had come on my period the day before :shy:

Then the nurse came and i walked down to theatre at 1.20pm so was really fast, no waiting around at all. The anaethetist was there and another man who was talking to me while the anaethetist tried putting the canula in my left hand, missed my vein though so took it out and tried my right hand. Got it in the first time, i remember my hand stinging and throbbing they said that was the painkillers going in.

They then put a oxygen mask on me and was asking me how old my children were, he said he’s was a similiar age they were….. then next thing i knew i woke up. A lady and man was stood there asking if i was ok and i remember talking rubbish and kept repeating myself 😆 .

Went back to my room where my hubby was waiting. Asked him the time said it was 2.30pm, wasn’t in any pain just really tired. Didn’t go back to sleep though, had a brew and half a slice of toast as it was making my mouth too dry. Then at about half 5 i had half a ham sandwich and some ice cream.

Left the hospital at about half 7, 8ish had some painkillers before i left although i wasn’t really in pain more aching. Kept waking up throughout the night but was quite comfortable, wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be. Woke up this morning and my boobs feel really tight, haven’t had any pain relief yet though.

Sorry for the really long essay 😛 just wanted to get as much detail in as possible. Probably forgot some things though, feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks everyone who answered my questions and helped me prepare.
