My Story – BA 12 Dec 11

Admission Time: 0730 hrs

Place: First trust hospital, Preston,

Surgeon: Dr Russo

Pre Op size: 34A (although Dr Russo said one of my boobs was bigger than the other)

Height: 5 ft 7

Weight: 10.5 stone

Initial consultation: Alison, Manchester – 12 Aug 11

Pre op: with the horrible nurse at Manchester – 26 Nov 11 ( she called me ridiculous for feeling nervous and a bit dizzy on the day of my pre op).

Had a phone call from Alison (PC) on Sat 10 Dec and she made me feel so at ease and told me the time of admission.

Got to the hospital about 0715 hrs on the morning of, the nurse came straight to me and me mam and showed us to my room, she was so lovely, think her name was Christina, I was told I was number 4 on the list but none of the other ladies had arrived so it would be up to Dr Russo which order he did it in.

I was so scared thought I was going to faint, put a very sexy nighty on and some even sexier socks on lol. Christina talked though a lot of things which took about 45 minutes, probably would have been quicker if I wasn’t panicking as much lol.

Then Dr Russo came in, he was so lovely and didn’t talk about the op which was nice cause I deffo would have fainted. He took photos of my little bee stings and then marked me up. I told him that my PC had told me that 385’s had been ordered and he said that if I went for that size I would be DD/E, my mum was with me and I think she almost swallowed her tongue, or maybe that was cause she was prev’ing over Dr Russo. I told him that my PC had also ordered a 330, which he said would be smaller than a D. I told him I deffo wanted to go to a D cup, so he said leave it with me I think we have 360.

As soon as he left the anesthetist came in asked me loads of questions which Christina has already asked me.

Then he left and straight away his assistant came in, his name was Chris, he is one of the people who makes you feel instantly at ease, he didn’t even come all the way into the room and said come on then are you ready. I ran to the toilet for a nervous wee and when I got out of the bathroom the Doctor from the hospital (don’t know her name) listened to my heart and asked me the same questions again as Christina and then Chris asked me more of the same questions lol.

It all happened so quickly, Chris walked me down to the anesthetic room and I lay on the bed, they put a cannula in my left hand and checked my blood pressure and placed pads all over my chest lol chris talk everything through with me as they were doing it, I then they put pain relieve in my cannula. Chris then said we’re going to give you a drug which will make you feel like you’ve had 24 bottles of wine. They put the drug in and then told me to take a deep breath, he said you should be able to feel it in the back of your eye and nose, at that exact time I couldn’t feel it, then I went to speak and I was drunk lol. I remember just saying to everyone thank you thank you thank you for being so nice lol.

I don’t remember being woke up just remember Christina asking me to shuffle across from one bed to another. I came around quite quickly but made the mistake of drinking the entire jug of water in an hour and was sick a few times, lol even after being given anti nausea drugs lol.

I had no pain at all in the hospital, I suffer from panic attacks and the feeling I get with an attack and the tightness in the chest was a similar pain,

I couldn’t sleep in the hospital cause every noise was waking me up, I had some toast and a brew then got told off for taking myself to the toilet.

When I did sit up for the first time, it felt as if I was wearing a bra with chicken filets and it wasn’t done up at the back and it felt like the filets had fallen lol such a weird feeling.

Christina put a velcro strap around my chest which was placed just above my nipples and O M F G that hurt. I have to keep it on for two weeks and my mam had to place a sock down it so the Velcro didn’t scratch me (never thought I would ever need to put anything down my top again )

A little gutted I didn’t get too see @Abbymorris, who was having her op the same day, she was told the wrong time by her PC

I left at about 1600 hrs and I felt okay, it still didn’t feel real after so many years of not being about to go on holiday, get naked in front of a man or even buy a bra cause it looks nice not cause it has pockets for my fillets. As I was leaving the hospital the female assistant surgeon walked with us and she said I was giving off about all the beautiful dresses I will be buying, which I couldn’t buy before lol. I bet they have such a laugh with the things us girls come out with on the slab lol.

The drugs started to wear off about 2000 and I realised that maybe I should have taken it a little easier at the hospital, I was lift my bag and doing everything I normally would, I was laying in bed doing my hair in a high pony tail.

So last night was emotional, I wasn’t in pain, it was just so uncomfortable. Luckly my sister is in Singapore and with the time difference I gave her a ring at work lol. I feel like my ribs back and front have been in ten rounds with mike Tyson, my sternum is completely bruised. I feel my stitches pulling when I lift my right arm, so I have stayed in bed all day.

I have my nurses appointment on 19th Dec, so I am hoping that the wounds would have healed. I havent as yet had a proper look at them, cause I keep getting dizzy when I stand up. I did think they were going to be bigger and my nipples look so weird, look like they could take someones eye out.

I have just checked my paper work and I was given a 385 in my right and a 365 in my left. Lol you get given little ID cards from your new boobies lol ill take a picture of this too

I will try and take some photos tonight, I know who much it helped me reading other peoples stories and see their photos.

I’ve just read your story. I’ve got my op there on tues next week. Am so nervous now. Is the hospital ok? I’m same size as you were and going for 410s . How’s your pain now? Can you now walk around ok? X good luck with healing x

vickster the hospital was so cute lol and everyone was so lovely, i havent really been in much pain its more uncomfortable and my ribs are a little brusied, its the same feeling as when your dont stretch after the gym. i can wake around but u didnt rest much in the hospital and didnt sleep well on monday night, slept on and off yesterday and then was dead to the world by about 8 last night, woke up once during the night but just cause i was uncomfortable,then woke up at 8 this morning, getting out of bed is getting better lol i have 6 pillows and a triangle pillow. The nurse put a bando on me before i left tge hospital, i took it off last night and put it back on this morning :S good luck for your op!!!!!!! i was panicking so much and its all done now and i have big boobies lol xx

thank you all it was because of some lovely lady placing her story on here after her op that made me make the final jump and book my op .

I have also had a phone call from one of the moderators who said the evil nurse no longer works for MYA

I have also had a phone call from my PC, Alison she is so lovely and two calls from the nurses. i am so glad i went with MYA for my op xx
