My story- ba 2nd feb, Mr Adamo x

Hey Ladies,

Well my turn arrived and now Im sporting 34e twins!

So… arrived at Highgate at 7.45am, 15 mins late due to traffic which only added to my nerves. I also had a mini panic coz Id woken up sneezing and had a runny nose so I hoped they would still go through with it. it’s important you tell the anaethesist though. When I arrived, the lady on reception said it was no problem as Mr Adamo wasnt there yet either. Phew! I confirmed a few details on a few forms and was then shown to my room-202. Nice rooms with an ensuite and a TV on wall with sky. I had my Fiance with me who was playing with everything in the room like a kid! He then forced me to watch sky news and actually sat there eating poached eggs on toast saying mmm with every bite! lol! I couldve killed him, my tummy was growling I was so hungry!

At around 8.30, a beaming Mr Adamo came in and sat down. He laughed saying I look petrified and he wasnt sure if I’d make it from reception to my room! He was so lovely and calmed me down in an instant. Then he told me to strip so he could draw on me- that felt a bit weird having my fiance next to me!lol! He then said that I am 2nd on his list and I’ll be collected at around 9.30.

Within minutes, the anaethesist came in who seemed very serious, although professional, just wasn’t one to be relied on for calming nerves. She advised that I would have the anaesthetic in my arm( where you normally have a blood test) but I laughed and said she would be lucky to find a vein- she remained serious and said she would! Ok then! i mentioned my new cold and she said if my temp was ok then we are good to go.

Straight after the lovely nurse came in who was so friendly. I even managed to crack a few jokes and got her laughing. She asked if Tom was my fiance- I said no, hes my fiances brother, weve been seeing each other for a while… God knows why, I think the nerves took over and made me feel like I needed to take the seriousness away from the whole thing after meeting the anaaethesist! She laughed and said she liked having patients like me. Tom doesnt even have a brother!

She checked my temp, weight, height, blood pressure and measured me for my tight socks which apparently massage your legs( I didnt feel anything though, they are just tight!)

Then, there was the dreaded knock at the door at 9.45. It was a different nurse who confirmed who I was and took me to another nurse who then did the same and took me to anaethesist room. It looked like the actual op room though with all the equipment around me and big white lights right above my head. Whilst the nurse was strapping me up for another blood pressure I felt my heart pounding out of my chest and my mout went so dry and icky! The anaethesist then spent 5 minutes tapping my arm and squeezing- she didn’t find a vein! I told her she wouldnt! So she put the cannula in my hand instead which only felt like a tiny pinch. I just stared at the ceiling thinking about how great my boobs will look after. Once it was in I swear she must have wanted to kill me coz every 5 seconds I was like, ‘is it going in yet? Now? When? How will it feel? Have you started it yet? Will it hurt?’ ha ha! Next thing I know I felt this amazing feeling come over me. My eyes went heavy but I felt so relaxed and peaceful…

I don’t really know how or where I woke up but I remember hearing the nurse laughing and I said why are you laughing? She told me I was the funniest patient she’d ever had and had literally chewed her ear off! god knows what I was saying to her but she told me to stop talking and relax. I just felt like I’d had a million vodka red bulls and felt on top of the world. No sickness, tear or grogginess, just an overwhelming happy feeling! I barely remember pulling my gown down and calling another nurse over to ‘check out these bad boys!’. Cringe! As if I did that! What a loser! I would never have done that sober!

Once in my room I was desperate for a wee and the nurse had her back to me. I rolled off the bed and stood up and she spun round and was like ‘noooo’. I was like ‘what?’. She said sit down you mad woman, dont give me heart attacks! She could see I was fine though and waited till I’d sat on toilet. I guess I shouldve slowed down but I weirdly felt fine and not light headed or in any pain. I was so excited about showing Tom my boobs that I just took my gown off and lay there with them poking out! Mr adamo simply puts a tiny plaster on the scar-thats it, so we could see everything. Tom was very against me doing this but as soon as he saw them he said he loved them and they look great. He even went as far to say that they are much better now! Ha! They are resembling sticking out torpedo’s from the side but look exactly how I want from the fron, nice and natural ish- as much as they can do on day 1 anyway but I hope they dont change too much!

In terms of pain, I started to feel a deep aching pain( as if a heavy person was sat on my chest) about an hour after so the nurse gave me morphine which made me a little sleepy. The pain has been there constantly but bearable and Im moving around fine.

The food was lovely. I was given toast and coffee about 20 mins after I got back to my room which I wolfed down! Then, 15 mins later I was given my 3 course meal. I chose cream of mushroom soup, then barbeque chick breast with wedges and veg, thena pot of green and blacks vanilla pod ice cream all washed down with lots of water and apple juice. Yummy!

I was a daycase and was planning to book a hotel. I really wanted to come home though so I thought Id take the risk and see how I feel after op. If I need a hotel then Id just get a last minute one. Thankfully I didnt as I am now at home propped up on my sofa relaxing and feel fine. I must admit, the journey home was uncomfortable as expected so I was glad when we pulled up on drive! I didn’t buy a v-pillow but I bought a couple of those squidgy round long ones with the small polystyrine( cant spell it!) balls inside from one of those stands within a department store. i got one for my back and one for my neck. In the car i couldnt bear anything touching my chest so I used it just under them with the seatbelt over the top.

I realise my story is massive so well done to those of you who got to this part without falling asleep! Feel free to look at my pics, Ill keep adding as the days go by. Any questions feel free to ask

aw thanks hun! You’re the first to comment so I was worrying people didnt think much of them! I had 410cc hp overs from 34c and want to be a dd. I fit a 34e bra which is fine by me! The pics do them no justice yet, I think they look small but theyre not xx

Yay thanks girls! Can’t believe it’s all done! Slept on sofa last night propped up on pillows and slept through the night. Just woke up and I mustve slid down on my back too much as when I stood up jees the pain kicked in lol! The best thing to do is stay upright I’ve gethered! ! It’s hard to explain the pain but it’s just like an ache and as if I’ve had a mega chest workout. No throbbing or sharp pains, just a constant dull pain. My tablets should kick in soon as took last ones at 10 last night. Things I’ve struggled with is opeing the car door and shutting it, lifting anything as it puts so much pressure on and the bathroom light but I just use my teeth. As for the toilet, no probs at all! I was worried I would struggle with wipeage but it’s honestly not bad! Ha ha! I’m sure there must be stuff I’ve missed our so feel free to ask any questions! For thosee of you who are next, you will be absolutely fine! It’s actually a great experience and I’m looking forward to my next ba in about 15 years! Xx

Khanni- can’t believe it’s your turn soon! U will be fine babe I promise and they will love you if you sing to them! Everyone was so nice ! X

verynervouslady- I promise you will be fine! I know it’s easy for me to say coz I’m done but honestly try to enjoy it coz it’s not as bad an experience and we build it up to be. I felt daft worrying so much before op but it’s the unknown we are scared of isn’t it. I promise you are in very very very safe hands and they will look after you so well! Haha, this story made me laugh! I was funny when waking up too, the first question I asked was “does Nr Traynor play music while he’s operating?” and the nurse said “yes, he has a good old boogie!” to which I think I just nodded and dosed off again…. Hehe!!

Hiya linzi- I’m trying to carry on as normal but my pain is still very constant. My ribs, side & back hurts!!! I had 380cc from 34/36 C. I’m hoping to b dd… Ur pics look fab! I am contemplating going to my uncles surprise birthday but I don’t know if I should!!! I’m hungry a lot too!! How r u feeling in yourself???

Linzi.. Wow they are fab… I am a 34B and was thinking of 380cc. You had 410cc hp overs… hp I assume means high profile… what did you ask for to get this result? Just so I know what to say at my consultation. There is no bruising in your photos at all.. how are they now? did you take Arnica?

hi kirsties, I know what you mean… I too have constant pain especially in left boob. It didnt help the fact that when I got in the car to come home, I shut my door myself by pulling it with left hand and I felt a pain when i did that so i guess I only have myself to blame! Other than this constant pain I feel fine but very bloated! I havent been to the loo for no2 yet and Im usually like clockwork!ha ha! Im not too hungry though, in fact the opposite but Im sure that will change as I do love my food! The pain tends to kick in after Ive been relaxing for a while and need to get up- then the throbbing starts as I get up! Im only day 1 though so hopefully it should die down. Im getting back pain too but I guess thats due to being sat down for so long?Just about to add some more pics now xx

Hi pamela, no didnt take arnica or anything as I was advised not to take any herbal remedies- only paracetamol for any pain prior to op. I have some slight bruising showing next to my plaster so I guess ill be bruised by scar. I was advised 410 medium high profile to achieve a 34 dd. i am currently wearing a 34e sports bra and that is a weeny bit loose on cup size so i reckon Ill be a dd once settled. Im so glad I went for this soze though as they are perfect or my curvy frame. I would have even been happy with 460 to be honest which he also offered. I banged on and on about wanting a very natural look and Im so confident that as they settle they will look even better. I couldnt be happier with my results- I just wish I didnt have this aching constant pain but I guess thats what you pay for beauty! ha ha. I would recommend 410cc hun without a doubt! x

Hi fairydust! Glad you like them! Im really over the moon with them! Just about to add more pics too which are a bit clearer. It depends what look you are going for but bear in mind im a 10-12 and was a 34c- check out my before pic. I reckon you will most def notice the size difference! my friend came round today and was like woah they are huge!! But she said they werent ridiculous, just right. xx

Hi Pamela, I only had them done yesterday and really felt the pain today. Think coz I was dosed on the morphine yesterday I underestimated what I could do and did most things as normal. Gradually throughout today they have just been more and more painful. I hope they feel a bit better tomorrow!

Do they give you much pain relief to take? I hear ice packs help. Hope the pain improves soon but your result is well worth the pain I bet!

Well they give you a course of antibiotics and 10 days worth of painkillers called co-drydamol. To be honest, Im still in pain when Ive taken them but Im hoping this is just day 1 pain!! Yeah I guess the pain is worth it as Im so happy with my results. Just excited to see how they will end up as they are rock hard right now! Jees im day 1 and so impatient!! Ill give the frozen peas a go tomoz if still in pain x

I’m totally amazed how fantastic they look so soon! I’m due to have 410 unders so will be great to compare how they differ!

Thanks Jenny! I had overs hun. Pain is better today, so glad Im not having a repeat of yesterday! I forgot to mention in my story that the only side effect I had was the shivers. I hardly noticed it though but my teeth were chattering and I just shivered like I was cold- except I didnt feel cold! They only lasted 10 mins and as soon as Id eaten my toast I was back to normal!

Aw dear! I wonder why your arm is killing? Have you been using one arm more than the other? My back also hurts but I reckon thats down to sleeping upright on the sofa. Not the most comfortable positions so i cant wait till I can lie on back again- even though I usually sleep on my front! xx

Linzi – I have a big hard lump under my skin about 3 inches away from where the needle went in.. It really hurts!

What? In your hand? Or arm? Thats strange, I dont have anything like that. Wonder what it is? Have you spoken to nurse? x

Thanks Nessy! My tummy is so bloated!!! I agree that they are now much more in proportion with my curvy frame-yay! I try to make the most of this serious life we all live! I never take myself seriously! x
