    Hi girlies.. well here goes!

So I arrived at Highgate hosp yesterday morning with my mum & boyfriend around 20 past 7 as my admission time was 7.30am or so I thought! When I got to reception the girl told me that my admission time was actually 9am! Not a great start but I phoned my PC and asked what was going on, she said she would look into it and get back to me next week. No doubt I’ll be chasing it up though as I’ve hardly heard a peep from her since I booked my surgery.

Anyway enough of that and on to the good part!

Despite arriving early they kindly let me go straight up to my room to get settled rather than going away and coming back again.

I was only in my room for about 15 minutes or so when the nurse came round to see me with my sexy pants which she said were Ann Summers finest haha, my stockings and theatre gown. Shortly after I had a quick visit from the anaesthetist who asked a few questions then I just relaxed and watched tv for about an hour until 10am when the lovely Mr Fallahdar came in to see me. He asked how I was and went through everything, took some pics on his camera, drew his markings on my boobies then asked if any of us had any last minute questions. Before he left he said that I would be going down to theatre in about 45 minutes.. it still didn’t feel real at this point! So 45 minutes later there was a knock on the door and one of the theatre nurses came in to collect me, I hugged my mum and boyfriend then got into the lift. As soon as I got out and was walking down to the anaesthetist room, the nerves just hit me! I have never felt so petrified in my life!! Once in the room and lying on the bed the nurse started to put all the monitors etc on me and he was laughing away as my legs just started shaking like mad, he told me not to worry and that it was just my bodys natural reaction as the nerves had started. The anaethetist then appeared to put me to sleep, I just remember him asking me where I worked and lived and if there were nice cocktail bars around there and that I would shortly feel like I’d had a few.. he asked how I was feeling and the last thing I remember was replying ‘i feel really woozy’…

My surgery took 50 minutes and when I woke up in the recovery room I just burst into tears and starting shouting for Mr Fallahdar hahaha, how embarressing. The male nurse who was with me in recovery kept asking why I was crying but I just told him I didn’t know. I remember telling him I was in so much pain so he administered some more painkillers whilst I asked him what his name was about 5 times, poor guy lol! I felt like I was on another planet though.

I think I was in recovery for about 45 minutes then I was taken back up to my room, a nurse came in to see my straight after and put my Royce bra on for me. I’ll never forget my mum and boyfriend’s faces when the twins were unveiled to them for the first time lol! Mr F came in to check on me a little while later and said everything had went great, to take it easy and that he would see me on my first check-up. He is honestly just such a genuine caring man and I felt so safe with him.

I have to say, the Highgate staff were outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. I thoroughly enjoyed my day, although it was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster I would do it all over again if I could.

I got discharged around 6pm and
