My story so far!!BA 21/12/09

Hi All!!

Went for my BA yesterday at Manchester Lifestyle Hospital!

Arrived at 12 but had to wait until 5.30pm to be called to theatre, was the longest 5 hours ever and was so hungry and thirsty!!Was very lonely as went by myself and to be fair the nurses werent very attentive!
Surgeon etc came to see me just to go over final details!
Got changed into my gown and paper knickers and walked down to theatres, wasnt nervous at all which surpised me!Got onto the bed and the anaestetist put a cannula into my hand, felt the first two drugs going in (one for pain relief and one to relax the muscles) and off i went to the land of nod!!

Then i remember waking up in ALOT of pain in recovery room and cried!!think it was a mixture of pain and not realising what was going on as still very drowsy!They gave me some more morphine and then I remember waking up in my room with a nurse. Had my blood pressure etc taken and was told to have a good sleep!woke up about an hour and half later very thirsty but not to uncomfortable! Had a glass of water and as i felt fine and had no sickness at all after the anaesthetic i was allowed a cup of tea and biscuits which tasted sooo good ha!!

I slept lots and had bits to eat and drink inbetween, the nurse looking after me in the evening was lovely and helped me when i needed to go to the toilet through the night which was very difficult due to drains, only slept for about 2 hours at a time but wasnt in to much pain.

When i woke up in the morning i had some toast and tea for breakfast before my surgeon came to see me and said everything went well and app my new boobs look perfect!!(havent seen them myself yet due to all the strapping so hopefully i think they look perfect to!)

The nurse came to take my drains out (which i found very uncomfortable) and gave me my tablets and off home i went!

They have been very sore today and keep getting very annoyed that i cant do day to day things at all and am struggling to move by myself but hopefully that will pass over the next few days!Boobs are very swollen atm!

Was a 32a before and had 410 partially unders, hoping to be a D/DD once healed, wearing a 34D sports bra atm and loving as much of them as i can see, just hoping they get a bit bigger hehe!

MYA have been wonderful so far throughout it all, the hospital staff could have been a bit more accommodating but hey ho!

So just lots of rest for me at the moment and back on 29th to get dressings off, so as soon as that day come i’ll get some pics if anyone wants to see!!

Even though its been pretty painful i would reccommend to anyone as already a million times happier

congratz babe you finally did it.. and hey least your honest about them not bein as good as you fort (nurses).. mind i wanna have a look at them im crappin myself.. im gttin 460 unders so hopin thy r nice.. bet youl look gorjus tho.. have plenty rest hun =] xx

feeling VERY tired today, due to finding it hard to sleep on my back as always sleep on my side!also the pain relief makes me quite drowsy, but pain wise im better today, still quite sore and tight but better than yesterday!!
already cant wait to get strapping off as its starting to itch like crazy and reaaallllyy want to see my boobs properly lol!!
but still very happy

awww thats ok thn hun just think ul b able 2 see thm soon.. how long do u hav t keep th strappin on 4? im dreadin th sleepin bit i sleep on my frount its guna b a nightmare lol xx

congratulations on getting your new twins :cheer: I too found sleeping on my back a nightmare, as i always sleep on my side. I got really bad back-ache. I tired sleeping on my side at 3 weeks post op, but it was too uncomfortable, but by 4 weeks i was okay. I’m 4 months now, and still have not tried sleeping on my front!!!! xx

Yeh I’m a front sleeper too but would def settle for sleeping on my side!roll on 4 weeks!!just had a shallow bath which made me feel so much better and managed to keep bandages dry!!although dying to have my hair washed!pains settling a bit now too!they still aren’t looking overly big but I’m guessing the dressings and sports bra are keeping them a bit tight!xx

Well done, bet u so pleasd, I also think that manchesta nurses cuda bin alot betta! I was expectin them 2b fantasic, bt thort they were a let dwn rly. There was 1 I realy liked bt didnt c her much xx

was it the lady in the purple top thingy, dark hair she was lovely as and wished i saw her more lol
