I got to Park Hill Hospital, Doncaster around 1:45pm, it was really windy and we couldn’t get parked as a tree had blown over and landed on a few cars and part of the royal infirmary outdoor covering had blown off, so as i wasn’t at all nervous strangely i just jumped out of car and hubby went home for getting kids from school.
Sat for a few minutes in reception before being taken up to my room, i was in room 20 and it was right on the corner of the building which was pretty noisy from the wind. A lady came in to take my breakfast order and a few minutes later nurse came in to do my admission paperwork and measure me for my lovely stockings, he then left me to get changed into gown (which i put on backwards lol) and huge paper knickers, when he came back i put on said stockings and he took my blood pressure. After about 15mins Mr Kazzazi came and went thru consent form and drew on me, felt like i’d been attacked by my toddler with a felt tip pen lol, he said there was another lady before me as she was just having implants so i’d have about an hour to wait. After Mr K came the anaesthetist who explained what would happen to me when i got up to them.
At about 4:25pm i set off to theatre, got onto bed and anaesthetist told me a joke (cant remember it tho) put cannular in and they started the fluids in and i was out like a light! Dont remember waking up in recovery or anything at all until about 10:15pm! (According to my notes i went into theatre at 5pm and was back on ward at 8:55pm i think)
The nurse who came in to see me and do blood pressure, pulse and temp and give me pills said my hubby had phoned to check i was ok as he’d not heard from me so was a bit worried. My left drain collected quite a bit but my right side had very little in. I slept on and off most of the night, and thankfully the wind had died down so it was quiet.
I had my breakfast around 8am-8:30am, feel like a bit of a pill popper as i had 2 white pills, 1 blue pill and 1 pink pill.
Mr K came to see me about 10:45am and told me to keep pressing my nipples every couple of hours to keep blood flowing. I asked if i could take the arnica and his reaction was good heavens no, it thins the blood to bring the bruising up quicker or something, it being any good is an old wives tale apparently.
I was supposed to go to see mya nurse on monday but he wants to see me himself back at park hill on tuesday.
I should have kind of anchor shaped scars.
