my teeth whitening experience

Thought I’d share this as it might be helpful to some. Well I went and got my teeth whitened yesterday, they weren’t yellow or anything which is probably why my results are so slight. I’ve lightened by about 4 shades but there is hardly any difference between the shades so it’s not mega noticeable. Overall, an awful experience! For me it was worse than getting my boobs done lol i’m not even kidding.

I have quite a small mouth so the device they use to open up your mouth and keep your tongue back hurt for a start. They start off by exposing your teeth using this device, then they apply a liquid plastic gum shield which drys and acts as a barrier. Then they place two cotton balls in your cheeks to absorb saliva and proceed to apply the whitening gel. After which a blue light is placed over your teeth for 10-15 minutes, you just lie down and ‘relax’ while this is happening.

My oh MY did that hurt, I was meant to have 4 10-15 minute sessions in one go and I bailed out after the 3rd as I was in agony. My eye make up was in my ears and I looked a mess as I was crying through out the treatment. I’m tattooed and pierced, I’ve had surgery cosmetic and non cosmetic so I like to think I have quite a high pain thresh hold but this was something else. The guy that was doing it said my reaction wasn’t normal and that I probably just have sensitive gums but for me it was totally NOT worth it

My gums were bleached white straight after and now they’re red raw. I’ve been applying bonjela all day. My teeth feel ok now but yesterday I was in agony, they were soooooo super sensitive And the worst part, you can only eat white food for 2-4 days after, which sucks as i’m a big eater! so while my fella chomps down on a tasty burrito i’m stuck eating a frigging boiled potato with no seasoning…..

yes you can add me but I haven’t any pictures of my teeth, the results aren’t noticeable. I got it done at the cheshire teeth whitening clinic it costs 299 pounds usually but i got it on offer, 99 pounds.

oh well it was an experience, one I don’t care to repeat lol x

Ohh i wanna whitten my teeth but that sounds painful!!..i drink ALOT of coffee and although I brush my teeth 2-3 times a day i still dont feel like they are white enough..i was thinking of tryin the strips or the home kit gel thing

I drink loads of coffee too, but you’d be surprised to know that tea actually stains your teeth A LOT more than coffee. Coffees not that bad in terms of staining, the guy at the teeth whitening centre told me that. Red wine, tea and curry are all very bad. I’ve tried the home kits, waste of money hunn. I’ve tried everything now, think I’ll just get veneers when I can afford to do so. x

omg i’d LOVE LOVE LOVE vaneers, aren’t they like 15k or something? hmm booby loan will be paid off in two years muahahaha xxx

Sensitive isn’t the word even the wind hurt. Couldn’t speak but apparently my reaction wasn’t the norm so you should be fine. It’s a killer on your gums though x

I’ve just noticed, some small areas on my gums are still White. Yuck x

It’s a weird sensation, pain killers did help a little but it’s your actual teeth that hurt/feel sensitive and I don’t think painkillers help there. They did with the gums. Take ibroprofen itll help with the swelling too. My bf thought I’d had my lips done lol temporary bonus but they looked too big for my face. Kinda like a misplaced vagina x

Oh and get some sensodyne whitening and bonjela. You can’t brush your teeth for 2 days so you just rub some toothpaste in using your fingers, I apply it every few hours. It helps with the whitening too. x

Eye make-up in ears and boiled potato – lol, genius. It sounds like a life-sentence. I got a kit off eby before they were banned (I know not very sensible or responsible) but that worked really well for me. God knows what was in it but it was canny good x

Lol those kits contained high levels of hydrogen peroxide. Very effective but if used over and over they damaged the enamel. I highly doubt you did any damage with one application x

And right now I’m feeling a bit better because my boyfriend the little angel just bought me some very nice White food, MILKYBAR! woohooo! Finally something that tastes nice x

Ohh khanni i ddnt no that..the thing is i also drink tea (all kinds!!)..so i guess im not helpin ma case am ii??lol..ye i was thinkin of the gel at the mo n had sum ppl recommend it..well cc xx
