i thought u was allowed to stay free of charge if unwell read it on here loads.

i couldnt turn my head without feelin like i was gonna throw up, turned down most of the food, deffo couldnt walk i nearly collapsed just tryin to stand up, i was back in my room about 11.40am..was tryin to recover all day, singh came in at 7.50 and said it would be £200 for me to stay the night if im not gone by 10pm.. money i didnt have, so i pretended i was ok, nearly fainted in the lift on way 2 the car, was awful!

That’s disgusting. The nurses in my hospital tried ringing my surgeon for hours but she was in surgery else were. They said they wanted me to stay I could of gone if I wanted to. I asked who paid for the extra nite n nurse just replied ” not u Hun so don’t worry xxx

omg really! my nurse was lovely and she said i have a daughter ur age and as a mother i dont want u 2 have to go home. but it was late so she had to leave herself! couldnt believe when my surgeon came in and kinda gave me a deadline, when i was feeling really bad like i got up for a minute and i thought i was gonna die no joke that thought went through my head i couldnt even make it to the toilet! i was scared, then im told, basically family have to leave at 9pm either way, and u have to leave at 10pm unless u have £200 at hand :| erm bye then! x

Agree with the girls, that is disgusting. The wellfare of patients should be their top priority!! For the sake of bloody £200 which is nothing to them you should’ve been allowed to stay free. I paid £400 extra for an overnight and I didn’t even need it. Put a complaint in x

That’s awful. I paid for an overnight stay, I had drains and the following day were still draining loads of blood. I was told if it didn’t get any better I could either go home with the drains still in (eurgh) or stay another night at no cost to myself. Thankfully it eased off towards the end of the day so I went home minus the drains. No way do you have to pay!! What would they have done if you’d fainted whilst leaving?! Disgusting!! X

    Hi everyone

Further to the above comments made.

MYA would like to offer reassurance in stating that healthcare organisations provide a distinct and common framework with organisationally based values that collectively support the safe discharge of patients.

If you have any concerns regarding your operation, please contact your PC.

    Many thanks

Well the fact of the matter is, there is a distinct and common framework for providing care to patients, but it’s not been adhered to with many of the MYA’s patients and a LOT of people have complained about shoddy aftercare.

Least you didn’t pay £500 for an overnight stay

Must of been 5 star luxury and champagne on tap but I hadn’t noticed

Then told to go home .. Only for me to say – well I’ve paid for overnight

Will I get my £500 – ‘no’ haha

Sorry for whinging someone said they’d look into it and didn’t

Can’t see me getting it back,

But for a student whose saved for a year on a £300 a month wage

When my car insurance costs 120 a

Month – you can see why I was unhappy at being told ‘i don’t know why your overnight’ xx

I had my op at 12 and by about 7:30 was still feeling rough, the nurse said I could stay for free if I wanted. Felt a bit sorry for my boyfriend though as he’d been waiting 12 hours and would have had to come back the next day. Wish I’d stayed though, that bed was sooooo comfy lol. Sorry to hear you had a rubbish time, can’t believe they said that to you! Xx

I also paid £500 for an overnight. I was told by my pc that I ‘had’ to stay as I lived more than 2 hours away from the hospital. However, I didn’t need to stay overnight (I was down first and back in my room by 11am) and would’ve been happier in my hotel. Didn’t even get the 3 course meal. Got 1 course (heinz tomato soup) then they forgot to bring the rest of it! Charming!!
