MYA'S Offer – Manchester TOT – Please respond!

Hi ladies,

MYA have made the following offer for the TOT night:

Start off at the clinic 7:30 – 9:30pm .

The event to be open to all – past patients and potential patients (promoted on the forum) as chance to meet and discuss the procedure etc.

MYA to brand all tops – we would pick our own tops so we don’t have to worry about them picking bad fitting/bad styles.

MYA to provide a selection of nibbles and drinks.

They have suggested they could look into sorting a club entry/guest list for us.

The alternative is our own night out, wearing our own clothes and doing our own thing as already posted:

PLLEEEAAAASSEEEE post here to say what you would prefer – be completely honest!! Personally we don’t really think what they are offering is worth parading around in MYA branded tops all night for – but if everyone can say what they want then we can go with the majority.

No, not worth it at all. We could all turn up for the drink and nibbles then carry on with the night we all ready planned?! Lol xx

^but you’ll still have to work for them, telling prospective patients all about it and showing them how fab you look, convincing them to go with mya. So mya would make a lot more money than they’d spend on nibbles, drink and a top.x

Personally i don’t fancy spending 2 hours of the night at the clinic…we’re out to enjoy ourselves…and if its the manchester clinic at deansgate its tiny in there x

If i got the train from Blackpool to Deansgate, where would i meet everyone? And i’d prob stay over…i’ll be coming by myself so dont want to be hanging around by myself..yup i’m a wimp lol xx

A few of us are coming up from the south west, we haven’t made arrangements yet but I know I will be staying in a hotel/b&b xx

I am not prepared to do this for them for 2 hours, I don’t think they have grasped the fact that we’re effectively working for them, being prepared to promote their company and be looked at by new clients. They really have missed a trick here, and I made it so clear to them what an opportunity it was for them for them to promote themselves but they’ve have to make it worth our while.. I say we go with our own night xxxx

I did email the organizers to say that we could change the time if you wanted. You really won’t be stood around in the clinic all night. Only an hour or so and it will fly by as you will all be chatting and meeting face to face for the first time.

We really want you all to have a fun night out and as a token of thanks and support for all you lovely ladies have done on the forum we can invite you into the clinic (which is a great size and location in Manchester – not small at all) for some drinks and nibbles beforehand. It would be nice for you all to have a quieter place to meet face to face before you all got out on the town! We can also sort out entry to a club if you like? It was your ideas about the tops and if you want to send us tops in to get branded you can do that with pleasure or we could possibly get you some MYA badges?

Thanks Moderator, we’ve sent you an email this morning. I think we all agree that we’ll go it alone and not draw attention to ourselves by wearing vests or badges in town but thanks for the offer, you did say 2 hours in the email not 1.

I think we just want to keep it dead chilled out and whilst we appreciate that it’s a nice idea to kick the night off, the idea of being on show to potential clients is a bit daunting so we’ll stick with our original plans.

Hi Em, we had considered doing some promotion for MYA as we were all out together but after getting a feeling from the ladies coming, the clinic idea has not gone down well. I think we were all thinking that if we were prepared to wear vests in town (which will take guts especially for those of us who live in the area) that it would be worth seeing whether MYA would offer contribution towards our night out and we suggested some ideas of organised evening planning etc, MYA have kindly offered the nibbles and drinks at the clinic at the start of the night for 2 hours but the girls felt that being on show face to face to potential clients and having to stay in the clinic was offputting xxx

Ah ye, I get what ya mean about the 2 hours there, suppose they just thought they were doing you a favour as well by leaving ya all to chat a bit getting to know each other rather than that you HAD to be there promoting them x

Blondie30 – We will only invite people who are on the fourm to come along to the clinic – chances are you are speaking and helping them on the forum anyway and it is only nice to invite them along too to meet you all. Would it not be nice for pre op to meet post op? We dont want to leave them out xxx

Please don’t see it as work. It is socializing and basically a nice place to meet all those you have helped and are helping on the forum.

Ladies just to make it clear, it’s not just my opinion, ladies have put their comments on the forum and some of us have spoken outside of the forum and obviously unless everyone agrees and feels comfortable we won’t agree to anything.

We approached MYA to offer them a promotional opportunity in return for something worthwhile xxxxx

Just wanted to share with all that we do want you to have fun and are more than happy to open the doors to the lovely forum users to have you all round for drinks and nibbles before you start your night. Much like going to friends for drinks before you set off into town! The offer is still open and we would also love to meet you all. No work will be involved at all. Just mingling and chatting about a topic we all love. With drinks too! xx

If it had been put like that at first, I probably wouldn’t have been completely against it. It doesn’t sound like such a bad idea, just meeting up before going out, as long as that’s all it was x

It didn’t come across like that in the email to us, Claire1985 copied the majority of it straight out of the email when she posted it and it was shown as being open to all potential clients.

Anyway.. we can see how people feel,if anyone does change their mind, we wouldnt want to be there until 9.30, i think 8pm at the latest as we have planned places to go to and not everyone will want to stay out really late xxx

Is this just for the Manchester night out or does it apply to the Newcastle night too?

It’s just getting a bit hard to manage because there are 30 ladies coming in Manchester and alot of them don’t like the idea so I dont want to arrange anything that people aren’t happy with. xxxxx

this is the trouble when some people are happy to do it and others aren’t. We need to make a decision either to (1) all go to MYA for say an hour early on – say 6-7 and then go with our plans or (2) we just go with the plans we have suggested and not involve mya.

Do we need to put it to a vote? I don’t want to make it too much work for blondie.

Any thoughts? xxx
