On my letter i receieved it said to make sure all nail varnish ect was removed and makeup, does this mean shellac aswell off hands and toes? Silly question but just wondering if anyone went for the op with shellac or some makeup on??
I made sure I took everything off, I usually have bio sculpture on my nails which is like Shellac! Didn’t want to get there and end up having to peel it all off! x
We definitly cant wear nail varnish or shellac because they need to see the colour in your fingertips, im not sure about make up though but i look hurrendous without it xx
my nurse at pre op said a little make up was ok, however everyone else said no. i didnt put iot on the day so not sure what hospital staff would say. i would say nails are a big no no as they need to monitor you, and fke hair, if it has metal clips in then it has to go also, but if its not you can tie it up

Nails are a no fingers and toes as they view the level of oxygen in your blood via your nail beds. Make up is also a big no, NO make up and NO bath/body products, if particles from make up ect get in to your incsions or implant pocket during the op it will increase your risk of CC and infection, not really worth the vanity! x
I wore makeup going and was allowed to keep it on, also my nurse said before i went i was fine to wear makeup just as long as you don’t wear nail varnish x
I dont mind about Makeup because i dont wear much anyway, was just curious. I havn’t had my pre op yet but im sure she will explain all this to me when i see her. Im having 365c overs from a 34a @Hayley can’t wait. 3 weeks on sunday is my op (12th of Jan) can’t wait but sometimes get really scared thinking about it. Thanks for all the replies x x
