name of scar cream recommended

Hi, I am a year post op, I had a breast reduction. I’m looking for a good scar cream, my scars are still thick and red…any ideas ?

i would get the scar sheets as oppose to the gel, they work better. a good brand is dermatix x

your welcome, i had a standard breast augmentation, i’m almost 3 weeks post op. got 345/385cc as my boobs were uneven, happy so far i have the sheets too but i will use them once my scars have closed up x

I am using Dermatix scar gel, it seems to be working really well for me, I had my op in Dec and my scars are fading quite good, I had an uplift as well as implants, so I have the lollipop scars. I was going to get the scar sheets, but wasn’t sure how good they would be, cause you have to keep them on 24 hours a day, and I didn’tknow if they would loose their stickyness. Also, I didn’t want my scars covered with something all of the time. I got my gel from e-bay xxx

Have you been massaging your scars to reduce the scar tissue? I would think that would help if they are still thick. I’m hoping my scars are just white and smooth after a year xxx

My surgeon was injecting the scar with botox, yes that sounds mad!

this softened th scars,but the scars are still red. My mate had hers done a month after mine,and her scars are almost invisible. She did say we could try surgery,but i don’t want to go through that again

in america they use steroid injections to break up scar tissue – maybe thats something to look into xx

i have a keliod from many years ago well 2 years ago and i have been recieivning steriod injections now my scarrring is flat and hardley noticeable i went to my doctor and he referred to me to my local nhs hospital to see a surgeon from the plastic surgery department – the treatment is free but i wud try the dermatix sheets first and if it is still bothering you i wud see ur G.P x x

Just saw this post! I am 4 and a half weeks post op from uplift and implants. When can I start using Dermatrix? also ive found some about £25 – does this sound right?

melissa – i got mine off ebay for £13 hunn! i think people get them on prescription and don’t use them all so list them on ebay. you can start using them after 6 weeks. your scars have to be fully closed before you use them so i’d get the go ahead from your nurse/surgeon first as you’ve got more scarring due to having an uplift x

I got a 20cm x 30cm dermatix sheet off ebay for about £25 inc postage. I cant wait til 6wks and hopefully get ok from nurse to be able to use it on my uplift scars! xx
