Hello everyone! Im booked in for August with Mr Adamo, its a long way off but suits me fine due to work/uni commitments etc etc…

Im 100% this is what I want to do, Im aware of possible complications and Im a student nurse so I feel pretty happy about the best things to eat etc post/pre op. Ive got one big problem though- Im TERRIFIED of the GA, Ive never had one before and although I know that theyre safe and so many of you girlies have been through it just fine, but Im still bricking it!

Really enjoying reading the stories on here, but as soon as I get to the bit about getting to the operating theatre my heart starts thumping, my mouth goes dry and I get all clammy. Must be the adrenaline of knowing that Ill be doing to same thing, but Im really worried that Ill freak out last minute as Im building the whole thing up in my head so much!

Do any ladies out there know of any methods to keep as calm as poss? And are we allowed anything herbal such as rescue remedy??

Thanks in advance for your help girls xx

Aww its totally normal hun, I’m bricking it too lol! My nurse told me to avoid anything herbal, even vitamin supplements just to be on the safe side. If you’re really really bad and think it’ll affect you really badly on the day, what about trying hypnotherapy or something? Xx

Thanks girls ^.^ From speaking to some of the other girls I think its normal to be anxious but Ive suffered panic attacks with nerves a few times and I reeeeally dont want to have one on the day of my op! Great idea claire1985, might take up meditation or something :D

Hi Lisadd, the usual healthy stuff really, plenty of fruit/veg, Ive also been adding real bran to yogurts and stuff (to keep me ‘regular’- ergh!), and lots of vitamin C, which if youre anaemic or suffer with monthlies is really good for helping iron absorbtion. Also, Ive been having manuka honey on toast which (although pricey) is fab as it has so many antioxidants in it :) xx
