actually quite impressed with my scars, still got a small amount of brown skin on parts of it but scar looks so thin an can barely notice i in real life! very happy thanks mr c!!!!
Hope you don’t mind me adding you have just booked re-aug to have my pips removed x
Flicky your scars are looking good already! I’m 7 weeks post op and mine are still red/darkish but it might be my skin tone making them more obvious cos I’m quite pale at the mo (I don’t use sunbeds and haven’t had a holiday for a while, haha).
Do you put anything on them/do anything with them? I’ve been massaging cocoa butter and bio oil in them since about 3.5 weeks as recommended by my surgeon but can’t say it’s made a miraculous difference yet. x
I havent done a single thing to my scars! I didnt think we could until after 6 weeks? thats what i heard anyway! Ive had one 6 min sunbed few days ago n put plasters on my scars an wore my bra but ive decided not to have any more now ive only got 2 weeks till my 6 week check up so im gonna wait until ive had the all clear. Ive just showerd like normal using sanex zero, havent scrubbed or washed scars really just let the soap run onto them to rinse them abit but havent really done anything to them! i smoke aswell so i thought mine would be really dark for ages! xx
I know I’ve seen different advice about when and what to do with the scars. I just followed what my surgeon advised and would recommend other people do too.
Mine told me I could massage bio oil, cocoa butter or something like that into them from about a week after I got my dressings off which was at 11 days (which actually took me to about 2.5-3 weeks, not 3.5 like I originally said). As long as the incision is healed, like no open bits, I think it’s ok but that might vary person to person in how long that takes. He said the important bit is the massaging as this helps break down the scar tissue and any lumps, etc.
I’ve just showered as normal too with shower gel and not scrubbed the area. It’s probably my skin, if I get spots the red marks tend to linger for a while too! xx
ive heard about strips u can buy an put on ur scars to reduce redness, may invest in some! not sure what there called though, do u know? xx
I think I’ve seen other girls talk about them on here, is it Dermatix strips or something? I’ve not tried them but it would be interesting to know if anyone found they worked. x
I heard girls talking about them strips you get them from boots but can’t remember who said it so maybe just ask the sales rep in shop
xx
Ive put up a post so hopefully someone can tell me some info on them! dont think u can use em till 6 weeks anyway, got 2 weeks until im allowed xx
