Hi… I’m new to the forum. Im 23. I’ve been thinking about having a BA since I was 16. I’ve thought about it on and off. The main thing that has stopped me in the past is my active lifestyle with sports and I now have an active hands on job. I hate not having any boobs… I’m a 34B although with my athletic frame you don’t notice this is my size.

My friends keep talking me out of doing it by showering me in horror stories and the whole thing with the PIP implants in the news reacently but I think it would massively improve my self esteem if I were to get it done.

I’m thinking about going to a C or D cup.

Mya comes highly reccommended. Can anyone share their stories good or bad in relation to Mya, their experience and recovery etc…

    Thanks Ali x

Well MYA don’t use PIP for a start lol, they use CUI mainly, and various other specialised implants, all of which have been rigorously tested for safety :)

My main tip is do it for yourself. People always poo poo what they have no personal experience of. I daresay those friends trying to talk you out of it probably have already ample bosems :P Never forget of course that a BA is major surgery, there are risks that you need to be aware of, and there are possible complications after the op. BUT, thousands of BA’s are performed daily, and the % of ladies who have any problem at all is very very small.

I understand your concerns about time off work and exercise – you will need to take at least a week off work, longer if you have a very active job, and you can’t do any strenuous exercise for up to 3 months. But, that will be the case no matter when you have it done, so better sooner rather than later imo.

Personally speaking MYA were brilliant. Couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon (Dr. Kazzazi). I had mine done 9 months ago and went from 32b to 32ff (look a lot smaller though). I only wish I had the money at your age to have done it then, because I don’t regret a thing. Go for it hun, you will be amazed how they make you feel :D xx

Hey, welcome to the forum! :)

Like you, I’ve wanted a BA since I was 16 and actually started seeing surgeons from that age and upwards. Anyway I’m 19 now and I had my BA the other week and I’m really pleased with MYA; initially I had complications but this was sorted within days and I’m liking my new boobs so far.

As far as the actual op is concerned, I was VERY scared because I had never been under GA before but it was totally fine; one of the easiest things I have ever done. I arrived at the hospital at 11 and was sent home at 6. In terms of pain I’ve had virtually none; just a little aching here and there, it kind of felt like I’d overdone it at the gym lol! They also feel a little tight from time to time but that’s because I have gone up 7 cup sizes. I was up and about the day after my op and even went and got my nails done!

In my experience concerning size, it’s best to show the surgeon pictures of how you would like to look rather than setting your mind on cup sizes or cc amounts; this is because implants always measure more than they look; for example, someone with implants may measure a C cup but may only look like a full B cup at the most. Too many people make that mistake and end up disappointed with their results; the most common complaint being that their boobs aren’t big enough.

Your friends are probably trying to talk you out of it because they don’t know anything about BA’s or that they actually want it themselves. Like newboobies said, any surgery comes with risks but very few people are affected. Don’t let the PIP drama put you off either; MYA have two options of implants which are manufactured by Allergan, one of the best medical supplies companies in the world. Some people go for the standard range of implants but others, like me, go for the more advanced ones; it really depends on your personal preference or if your surgeon thinks you need them.

Good luck! Feel free to ask anymore questions xxxx

Im 22 and wanteed it since i was 16 also, always had low confidence in th boobie area, im only a 32a and very slim. My ba is booked for march 13th with Mr Chantarasak. As long as you do all your research and pick the right surgeon for you thats all that matters, not what anybody thinks of says, were doing this for ourselves! Anybody who trys to talk you out of it is just jealous :P hehe good luck hun! xxx

Thank you for your advice! Especially with regards to showing a surgeon photos rather than asking for a specific bra size.

It’s good to hear such positive stories from people who have used MYA.

Yes most of my friends who say no do have big bozzums…. I have been warned of back problems etc… Which I do already have and is a concern of mine.

I’m keen to go for a consultation. I just fear I wouldn’t get the required time off work. I’m a PC and so the

job is very vigorous (at times when we’re not munching on doughnuts and sipping tea :-D jks).

How have you ladies come to decide on size and shape etc.. Is this purely through consoltation and discussion with your surgeon. What clinics have you had your ops at. Has anyone had it done in the Bristol clinic??

    Xx

I had 380cc because it was the biggest Mr. K offered me. He showed me about 3 different sizes, all CUI, which would get me the size and shape of the boobs in the pics i showed him. I took pics i cut out of magazines, off the net etc.. i went totally boob crazy lol. Actually I wish i had gone bigger now looking back, and will be going for a second BA in a few months to get them bigger. But that was really because i didn’t know what i wanted.. i thought i did, but having never HAD boobies before, i thought i’d be happy with a c/d *that’s what they look like altho they measure bigger), but i’m not. So definitely do a LOT of research. Do the rice test, try on different sized bras, look at pictures, talk to different surgeons, and take as much time as you need to make the right choice because it’s a lot of money to waste if you’re not happy. I had mine done in doncaster, but my clinic is birmingham xx

I told Mr C that I wanted to go BIG. After doing my research for MANY years I asked for 1300cc’s but he said he could only do that in two operations so he offered me 800cc’s which is still quite big so I accepted and I may go back this Christmas for a second op and rhinoplasty if he agrees :)

Because I had done so much research and been to consultations with other companies and private I had a fair idea of how things worked.

I went through the Holborn clinic and I had my op and Highgate hospital; I don’t have a single thing to complaint about, which is very rare for me! xx

I have now become obsessed with boobs. Constantly looking at photos! I had never heard of the rice test before so thank you for pointing it out. I will have to put rice on next weeks shopping list. What is the difference in round or teardrop shaped implants?? Xx

Oh an I spoke to someone at work last night who has basically said not to worry about recovery time as he is presuming I would be signed off or told to go onto light duties and I’ve been told that the job will just have to make do if that’s what a doc has said! Xx

Here is a useful link for the rice test: http://www.justbreastimplants.com/size/rice_test.htm

Also one for size that explains things really well: http://www.poustiplasticsurgery.com/choosing-your-size.htm

The difference between round and teardrop shaped implants is basically the shape; the teardrop ones are used to create a more natural look but are more susceptible to ‘turning’ which is when it flips or moves around in the breast pocket xx

Thank you for those links dolls. The second one relating to size is particularly helpful. I guess I’m back to looking at more and more photos then.

An not liking the sound of teardrops.. Id rather keep thinks as simple as possible. I just know that with my luck if I don’t something will go wrong. X

    No problem chick

I know the Pousti one is soo good I send it to everyone who doesn’t know much about size. Most people just stick to the round implants; you can still get a natural result as long as the correct profile and size is used xxx

i’m the same as you, i had a huge arguement with my cousin over it. But she later came round to the idea although i know the majority of my family will be against me getting it done. But its something i’ve always wanted and something that is important to me so i say go for it ! all the best! x

Sorry to hear you had a big argument. I’m at a relatives tonight, I want to talk to her about it… Just waiting for an appropriate moment when we’re on our own. Just hope they understand as their opinion is everything to me xx
