Newbie to surgery! :-S

Hi all,

I am a complete newbie when it comes to surgery so I apologise if this has been asked before but I’ve had a read through this forum and I was wondering if anyone would recommend the Vaser lipo?

Lipo has been on my mind for a few years now (hold most my weight on my stomach which I can’t shift!) and no matter how much exercise I do I can’t get rid of it. I did the Atkins diet (stage 1) for a long time and that was the only way I shifted it, but long term that diet isnt very good. As soon as I go back to eating healthy carbs I gain the weight right back on my stomach again!

I would ideally like my upper and lower abdomen done, has anyone had this at all and would you recommend it? I’m a healthy size 8-10 and happy with the rest of my body but just my stomach makes me so miserable! LOL >

As I said, a complete newbie so any advice would be appreciated….my biggest problem is deciding on a surgeon because its such a huge decision!! Would you choose MYA again if you had a choice?

Hi hun, I had laser lipo (not sure if that is the same as vaser?) on Weds, not had any cosmetic surgery before either, my surgeon was Dr Kingdon & I had it done in Birmingham. I had 3 areas, my upper & lower abs & hips. I was a size 12-10 but had a wobbly jelly belly which would give me a muffin top in jeans etc.

I did my research on Dr Kingdon & decided he was one of the best in the field, I would also 100% recommend MYA as a Company.

With regards to the procedure, I thought it was going to be a breeze as laser lipo is generally advertised as less invasive, minimal swelling & bruising etc etc but to be honest with you I totally underestimated the process!! It was quite uncomfortable having it done as times, it’s a very weird feeling & not for the faint hearted & I was shocked at how swollen & puffy I was Weds night but that’s gone down now & I can see my stomach is flatter already!

I think Vaser is the brand? I could be wrong. I have been researching for a while now and am quite interested in the sculpture as I would like my waist done also. Not too sure if they do this MYA? May have to investigate.

How are you feeling? Glad all went well. I think I may need to go for the consultation to get a real idea of what I want.

Would be great if you could send me some pictures when you’re fully healed? Would love to see how it worked for you.

I feel ok thanks hun, I did feel a bit sick Weds night & Thurs morn but not since, I’m just sore but that’s a bit better today than it was yesterday. They give you an antibiotic before you have it done to prevent infection & they give you strong painkillers to take home. I had to have a sedative today for something else & if I were you I’d ask for one when you have it done as I know it’s an option, wish I had! I just hope all my bruising goes before I go on holiday in a few wks & I’m a bit concerned how I’m going to hide this compression garment at work on Monday! Will upload some pics over the weekend! ccc

Hey guys. Totally get the whole new-to-surgery thing! I have just booked and paid for my laser lipo for my hips, inner and outer thighs. It is so NOT me. But i am sooo tired of feeling miserable about them, so i am finally doing something about it. Booked for end of November, and have to be in a bikini for January, for when i return home to Australia, to see my boyfriend (who hasn’t seen me in almost a year!). Agh! Hoping it all goes well. Keep me updated on how it all goes! XX

hi all im also a nwebie and didnt think id ever have any surgery dun but after 5 yrs my bulging belly willNOT go i train hard 3-4 times a week at the gym and zumba at home my diet is ok im not a picker. so ive booked ofr consoltation at brighton on fri nxt wk and from telephone convo hes recomened the laser lipo to remove the fat compleatly, im not hoping to end up with a wash board belly after a bit of lipo coz i wanna produce that myself at the gym,jade how ru doing now how long have u been in pain an have u been outta action as i have 2 very active boy 3 n 7 yrs so am wondering if its doable with them around me after i have it done? how long between ur consoltation and the op? where r ur pics i cant find any plz xx
