Nipple piercings, anyone!?

Any ladies had nipple piercings pre-surgery and been able to take them out or wear maternity bars for the duration of surgery / then been able to put longer bars back in post surgery??
I’d love your experiences, I’ve had mine done since May and probably won’t be getting the boobs until febuary, they’re already pretty healed occasionally need to give them a proper clean but not often.
