I’m 7 weeks post op from uplift and augmentation now and this no exercise is starting to really get me down. I play tennis at a high level competitively so booked my operation carefully around tournaments etc. and Mr Traynor did say that I shouldn’t expect to be back playing before 9 weeks but he imagined at 6 weeks I’d be feeling up to a small amount of exercise. But I really don’t. I am still in quite a bit of pain and there is absolutely no way on this earth I could think of doing any other exercise other than walking never mind picking up a racket! Or in fact using it!!!!!
Does any other post op girls have experiences of long term delays of having to hold off exercise??? I had overs as well so I thought I’d be well in the clear. I am gutted because I am committed to some important dates in 4 weeks time that are just not going to happen.
To top it all off… I look like a roly poly pudding !!!! Well I feel like one LOL
oh my god!!! 7 weeks and you still can;t exercise!
I’m 10 days and soooo gagging to go to gym. I know I can;t but I’m really missing it. I thought at 4wks I would be ok eeeeek! xxx
i’m a runner. and love my 3 long runs i do each week and my 2 swim sessions. When i stopped my excercise for 2 weeks for my hols, i could feel the “tone” turning to “untone” lol… thats the part i am dreading. i walk the kids to school each day so i shall be still doing that and probably walk on my treadmill on an incline once i feel able. I’m thinking that swimming will most definatly be out of the question untill after xmas but hoping i can run after 6 weeks. x
Why dont you try strapping them up and going for long walks, that and eating loads of bran flakes and thats how i stopped my self not going mad and putting on weight! x
heyy i was only 4weeks post op wen i went back to zumba and the gym and running and horse riding and i have been fine so far I just dont over do it xx
I wore a shockabsorber high impact bra with 2 nike gym bras that i run in over the top , so three lots of support and they didnt move! i used to go walking every day for between 40 mins to an hour and found it helped and stopped the bloating and made me feel so much better. xx
I feel really bloated !never realised u had to wear tight tops with boobs because otherwise look fat!!
me too x
To be honest I have actually lost weight because I haven’t been exercising (8lbs) but that is all muscle and that’s why I feel like a roly poly pud!!!! Coz the firmness has gone!!! And walking just isn’t doing it for me!!!
I still have to hold them going up and down steps wearing my shock absorber so there is no way I can stomach a run!!!!
I saw the nurse today and she said it best to wait unto 12 weeks if they add so sore. I know it was an uplift but jeeez I need my life back!!!!
TELLL ME ABOUT IT….
i cant stick not excercising, and i was really worried that i’d put on a pile of weight, but i’ve actually lost 7pounds in a week and 2 days
just eat SOUP, it’s hard if u don’t like soup but its such an amazing diet and you get used to it!!
its like a liquid diet.. all i do is eat soup and drink water.. also if your hungry in between eat some fruit, instead of chocolates, crisps ect
and cut out as much bread as posss
hope this helps
xxxxxx
awww girls i was like u, i made sure i kept active going for long walks everyday from 1 days post opp. i also lost weight after my ba, due to loosing muslce mass.
i was back in the gym 4 weeks post opp and just took my time, i did cardio but no weights will i was 6 weeks po then gradually worked my way on to what i was doing pre opp, i now work out 6/7 times a week and have no problem at all, i dont even wear a sports bra all the time xx
I must have been soooo lucky. I had uplift and implant with Mr C. Was walking hour everyday from day 1 and in the gym day 3 walking on incline. By week 2 I was on bike and cross trainer but careful not to use arms. From week 5 I was more or less back to normal. Bought great high impact bra in M&S and a shock absorber and running is no problem. Im 12 weeks post op now and back to lifting the same weights as pre-op. Have had NO pain and Mr C says he doesn’t need to see me for another year all being well.
I really hope you girls get better soon. I was dreading not working out. Are you in a lot of pain or is it just the strange feeling as sometimes mine feel a bit “detached” and I couldn’t have trained unless I had those great sports bras x
