Had my post op check with PS 6weeks post op!!!!!!
He told me i should have seen him two weeks ago and that my boobs might not come together because of this! I should have been doing excercise’s two weeks ago to help pull them together and help them soften! So angry that i wasn’t booked in earlier i was told this was the only time available!!!!! So much for great aftercare guess im just a number now!!!
hi,
who did u go with hun? id ring up ur pc and tell her what the surgeon told u an how angry u are at it.
uve payed all this money b firm …
and everyone gets told different some told to massage some not an some say after 6 weeks so it just depends i think they will b fine if u start now tho
xx
that’s very shocking! Is that with MYA? I had my first appointment given to me on the day I was discharged and it’s for only a week after I had it done! They also book another one the week after that so i’m seeing someone every week to begin with. I didn’t go with MYA.
I’d definately put in a serious complaint there x
you’re only supposed to see the surgeon at 6 weeks hun, its weird that your surgeon has said different. who did you have? just give your pc a call and ask why he is recommending different x
I’ve had a problem with my left arm since having my op 3 weeks ago. I made an ’emergency appointment’ on Tuesday (just gone) to see Mr Kazzazzi. He says the arm thing is cos I’ve had a reaction to the anesthetic but he also mentioned that at 4weeks post op, I’ve to start massaging my breasts to help them to soften. I’ve got an appointment then to see him 2 weeks later (at 6weeks post op). I hope this makes sense so far… Anyway, my point is that unless I’d have gone back to him the other day, I wouldn’t have been told to massage my breasts either, hence I might also be having your problem Jayz.
I’ve had some bad care from MYA also, with different things, I think that a complaint will also be coming from my way! xxx
DEAR
jill1980
Im booked in for a consultation for eyelid surgery next week, my greatest fear is having to much upper eyelid skin removed , so that i wont be able to close them at night while i sleep
jill1980 you say:
I’ve had some bad care from MYA also, with different things,
can i ask what these different things were please, so that i dont fall into the same possible trap?
This is terrible.. They really should inform you of what you should be doing to ensure proper healing. Jill1980 I also had MR K and I was 3 wks post op yesterday and haven’t been told anything about massage. Did he show you what to do? If so plz let me kno
I had a big problem with MYA – I was about to be given my GA and was plugged up to all the machine when the surgeon came in and said we dnt have the right implants but he will use bigger ones which are a different make!! I had to be unplugged and sign a document to say I consented to this. The implants were apparently a better quality and only 10g larger but it was the principle!!
Xx
Uh-oh, now I’m worried! I couldn’t make my 6 week check as I was away working, now not seeing Mr Traynor until the middle of August (he’e only at Newcaslte every 6 weeks), which will then take me 12 weeks post-op. No-one has mentioned massaging to me, should I be doing it? Had unders, does that make a difference?
omg im worried thats really bad
iv heard so much nice stuff about Mya and im really shocked! its awful! which surgeon did you have Jayz? that is really sad i hope you do make ur complaint it is alot of money and big thing to go through.
Ema89 thats horrible what you went through!!!! they shd have had everything ready n checked before you were about to be put to sleep?!! what wd have happened if u were asleep n they kdnt ask you!!! how were the implants diffenent? was the profile the same? i hope that doesnt happen to me! i want high profile round implants i would die if they said they only had different type!! least they were better quality

Hi Ladies,
Please note that MYA do not specify that massage is necessary following a breast augmentation. However, each surgeon will give you advice based on your individual needs and recovery which may include breast massage. Post operative instructions of this nature would be advised by the surgeon at your 6-12 week post operative review.
For all of your other post operative care, please refer to your post-operative guidelines given by the Nurse at your pre-operative assessment.
If you have any questions regarding your post-operative care then please contact your MYA Nurse at your local clinic. In an emergency please call 0845 270 2173.
Kind Regards
MYA
