I had a appointment to see Mr Adamo today, already booked my op date etc for the 1st of march only to be told today that he cant go ahead with the procedure (labiaplasty) as i need to have a letter from my gp explaining i am fit for the operation as i have mental health problems. he didnt explain anything today and i started to panic and started crying, only for him to fob me off to the nurse ( who was really nice ) to explain everything to me.

i now have to see my gp tomorrow and ask him to write a letter to be faxed over saying i am fit for treatment as they say.

has anyone else been in this position and still had the go ahead?

having the pre-op saturday, as long as my gp write this letter etc

    thanx for reading xx

i think as long as you have showed good health and stuff recently then you will be ok, a few on here have had eating disorders and they needed letters to have the go ahead. got everything crossed for you xx

    Hi sammaaa

I am so sorry to see your post.

Hoping everything is sorted for you in time for your procedure. The health and wellbeing of our patient’s is of the utmost importance to us and therefore we sometimes have to request further information to ensure everything is ok to go ahead.

i went to my gp and he gave me my medical notes which i faxed over, but these were not what was wanted apparently and the gp didn’t see the point in writing a letter for the go ahead, as my mental health doesn’t affect my ability to decide for myself. disappointed to say that my procedure has now been cancelled, awaiting a refund as i have paid in full and will now be going through my gp for advice.
