hi – had my post op check yesterday and had my plasters removed and had steri strips put on. Was told all was healing well. All yesterday afternoon my macom was aggrevating underneath my left boob and when i got home i was in pain, so changed to my asda sports bra. When i went to go to bed last night i was still in pain and now have a really sore and numb patch underneath my left boob. Have had to leave my bra off as it is just too sore to wear. Have had an ice pack on it. Any advice girls pls?? xx
Hi Hun
When i was about a week post op I had the same, wasn’t too bad or constant but every so often I would have a really sore pain just underneath my right nipple. I asked about it when I went for my check and she told me not to worry about it that it was very common and nothing to worry about. It should pass in a few days xx
Yeah lisa is right hun. I had the same dont worry it will pass x x
have just spoken to someone at mya 24hr line and they are going to get one of the nurses to ring me back shortly xx
Let us know how u get on Alex x
Let us know how u get on Alex x
thanks will do – it’s weird as it is about a 50p piece size and feels spongy and numb, might be fluid ?? Didn’t notice it before as my plaster was over it, but it feels bruised too xx
Hey hun, I had a really bad time of it when I had my dressings/tape off. I called the nurse, and she said it was probably just the trauma of having the dressings removed….even though they try to be as gentle as possible she said it can really aggrivate your boobs.
She told me to take co-codomol and make sure my temp was ok (high temp can be a sign of infection)
It passed after 24hrs xx
been out and bought new sports bras today as well, got a bigger back size in the asda one and i got one from tesco’s too, which is much better as it doesn’t dig into my sore spot. Still waiting for the nurse to call me, have rang to chase up!! xx
Hey Alex… I had my post op yesterday too. I had a sore scratch that was underneath one of my plasters, not sure how that got there as its not near my scar. Must admit my leftie is more tender around the scar area but i did have a slightly bigger implant in that one so maybe they did more tugging around in surgery.
Various parts under both my boobs are very numb but not the tip of my nipple which is weird.
Hope your feeling a bit better soon. xxx
hi hun – funny its just my left one that is numb underneath. Have phone mya twice today to try and speak to a nurse and nobody has rung back!! Useless. Reassures me to hear that you have numbness too and not just me.
How are you doing hun – hope you are loving your new additions xx
Alex – Had and still have something very similar.
It’s numb, so when you press the area is feels so unusual!! Spongy is the best word to describe it. Your still so early on. I’m 7 weeks and still quite numb. The spongy feeling will fade. It could be swelling/fluid. That’s still completely normal. A cool pack/ice pack will really help but it just takes time to fade.
The numbness usually fades. I was told at my 6 week post op but I still have numbness. My boobs are now super sensitive and I’m afraid to touch my nipples lol. Super sensitive.
It’s just your body trying to recover and heal. It’s a totally foreign object.
You’ve done the best thing getting a looser bra, it’ll give you some relief. Maybe try a few painkillers if it gets sore. Any worries again just contact the nurses. They are so helpful.
Hope this message has helped ease your mind. Your body is just healing in it’s own wee way
xx
oh thanks claireybabes that has helped loads. Reassured me that it is just what i think it is. Have done the ice pack, looser bra and taken my painkillers. Been taking it easy today and resting as much as poss.
I know i will get there, just not nice as it feels weird
