I said to my hubby today it feels like when you have an injection at the dentist to numb the mouth and your whole mouth feels bizarre, tongue feels like a big piece of cotton wool and you cant feel it if you bite it, thats how my breasts have felt with the numbness. I know its nerve damage so its a really weird feeling and makes me feel really queazy. Today if feels like when the injection is starting to wear off and I have some normal sensation coming back. Slowly, slowly I am hoping the numbness goes and my normal breast feeling returns, that will be a really exciting moment for me, then I can relax and feel like it was all worth it.
I have been reading about repairing nerve damage naturally and thought I would share my findings for those of you who also feel uncomfortable with the numb weird feeling after surgery.

Ginger has really good anti inflammatory properties causing nerve pain and damage, drinking 2-3 cups of ginger tea a day as well as using in cooking can really help to reduce pain and increase nerve healing 🙂
Happy days, get the kettle on lol
fresh ginger tea can be made with a few slices of ginger, 2 tsp raw honey, squeeze of fresh lemon add afew cloves and this is a wonder tea.
Honey and cloves have natural antibacteria/ antiseptic properties, ginger anti inflammatry and lemon full of vitimin C this is a great Tea also could add a small amount of tumeric as it to is a powerful anti inflammatry so will help with nerve healing

    or try this simple one
Place grated ginger into a 2-cup glass measuring cup.
Fill to the 1-1/2 cup line with boiling water.
    Set timer for 10 minutes.
When timer goes off, strain into a large mug and stir in sugar (you may need more or less, depending on how sweet you want your tea).

PS please feel free to post your own tips, or if you come across any information that can help with nerve recovery after the op. I would be grateful for any advice xx

Thanks for this! I hate ginger though haha. I’m really struggling with sickness, I haven’t been sick just constantly feeling sick. It’s getting me down now 🙁 I think it’s the anti biotics to be honest. It’s making me not want to eat aswell which is probably making the sickness worse. Starting to feel annoyed that I’ve done this to myself xx

@jessy6067 Now its patience hun, you are so used to looking after everyone else, now its your turn to be the patient. You know better than anyone how long an operation takes to get over, its minimum 6 weeks to recover from surgery, you know the first week will be the most traumatic and then your body will start to heal.
And under the muscle will be so sore for the first few days hun, I really, really feel for you, but get your nursing head on and remind yourself that your body has gone into shock and recovery mode.
I know you will be posting next week about how much better you feel so just hang on in there love.
And medicine isn’t meant to taste good is it nursey haha get the ginger tea down your neck it will stop u feeling sick and make your tit’s feel better !! Ask Mother to put the kettle on and get grating the ginger.

Hahaha your comment made me laugh. Cheered me up! I can deal with the pain it’s just the sickness!! I know I need to get a grip lol a see far worse in my job! Give me ginger tea at the minute and I will be sick everywhere haha keep that stuff away from me! I’ve just had to move a cadburys creme egg off my draws cause looking at it was making me heave! The things we bloody do to our selves. Maybe I’ll try a herbal remedy when you find one that doesn’t contain ginger haha ! X

I just read a post earlier that recommended eating milk chocolate to thicken the blood :)) an old nurse recommended it before and after surgery. Does that sound like a better natural remedy hun? You can eat the cream egg and know that its good for you hehehe

I daren’t bloody look at them. They just hidden away haha. No I had a 1 minute look this morning and yesterday. They feel like two rock hard footballs .. Huge footballs on my chest but when the bra is off they don’t look that big so I’m happy with the size of them. I was panicking about them being too big. And from what I’ve seen I’m happy. They change that much, Yesterday I thought they looked very round and stuck on and today they don’t. My left boob looks a lot bigger today though x

Oh I’m so glad you are happy with the size hun, what did you end up having? I know it was partials, but what size cc. it is amazing how they change each day, photograph them every day so you can see the changes, you will be amazed when u look back how different they look. Today is the first day that my boobs don’t feel like I have 2 grapefruits stretched under my skin. The sensation was making me feel sick, I really did’nt like that feeling at all, but today i can feel something is changing. It is really up and down for the first few days.
I’m really glad you are happy with the size, i bet they look fab xx

I went with 375 in the end. I said I couldn’t decide between 350 or 375 and he said there was barley any difference and to go for 375 so I did. Taking the bra off to put it back on is making me feel sick aswell, I think it’s the sensation of pulling the bra tighht again to fasten it. I tried to send you a picture on private message earlier but can’t get the image small enough to send?? X
