Ive been using clip in extensions for about two years n they do look quite natural but I’m sick to death of the hassle of putting them in n taking them out everyday. Sooo I’ve been thinking about having a weave done for the summer as it would be so much easier on holiday n stuff! Just wondering if any of you have had a weave or proper extensions, does it do any really damage to your hair? And would you recommend?xx
I used to get my extensions sewn in ALL THE TIME before i decided to cut my hair off.
When i used to take them out, a bit of hair would come out but not loads. However i didn’t wear them all the time.
I know some people that have used them and then got bald patches because they have had them in for ages and obviously with the hair being pulled on has resulted in bald patches.
I would recommend having them sewn in but dont leave them in longer than 2 months without a break
yeah i used to wear clips in all the time then went off them luckily bcuz as u sed can be a pain, anyway, i still wear them on a night out, and i had mine sewn in i recommend that over any other way do NOT get them glued in its awful and will rip ya hair out, get a weave for ya hol its great and last ages, no messin xx
Never have micro loops the make u bald ive had myn glued in for two years n wudnt have any different the hair is gorgeous n they last 4months at least I’ve never had a prob with glued in but have with micro loops wefts are more a tempory fix but if u have extensions make sure it’s by someone qualified n insured it’s the same as acrylic nails the better y look after them the longer they last I wudnt b with out mine xx
ive only ever used clip ins and glue, had them sewn in once but they come out. me and my mate glue them in and i do end up ripping some of my hair out but thats my own fault not using the right stuff. ive just bought a groupon to have brazilian knot method. takes 8 hours to do so not looking forward to that
x
I get mine weaved in; if it’s done properly it can last up to 3 months, but I’m thinking of changing to micro rings instead as you can use the hair over and over again so it makes more sense. If your thinking of extensions then stay away from Chinese hair which is the most commonly used; it looks amazing for the first couple of weeks but after a few washes the silicone is stripped out of the hair and it makes it look dull and cheap. Make sure your hairdresser uses Remi, European or Russian hair for the best, long lasting results. I also get Brazilian straightening every so often when I get mine done; it makes your hair soo soft and silky and it makes it blend more with the extensions…also the hair doesn’t go curly or frizzy when it rains
xx
iv just bought some virgin brazilain hair to get weaved in next week , it hasnt come yet but carnt wait .. every other hair iv bought always goes dry , even remi and european .. never had russian though x
i had bonded ones a few times but found my hair fell out a lot after words to i stick to clip ins really altho in 2 weeks im getting them sewn in see how i get on with thm probly wont keep having them done when there ready for out il probly leave them out a while and wear clip ins to let my natural hair recover a bit first xx
Yeah Brazilian hair is really great too. Remi and European hair tends to go dry if you use the wrong shampoo; it’s best to get a shampoo with a low ph level so it doesn’t dry out the hair. I’ve found that the best one is Argan secrets. In my experience the best hair is Russian, Italian is pretty good too xx
i have only ever used remi or russian, and had extensions for years now, i have never have them weaved or glued on the recommendation of my hairdresser, as the glue ruins your natural hair, and weaves can pull the hair out so drastically it wont ever grow back
(some types of hair just arent meant to be pulled into the corn rows as tight as they are needed, hence pulling the roots out and effing your chances of it growing back), i spray mine with oil twice a week, as extensions dont have the oils needed to keep them tip top, argan is a great one to use like dolly said, and wash with a good, none harsh shampoo and conditioner. im having mine re-done next week with new micro rings, and cant wait xx
Ah sorry girls completely forgot I posted this! Thanks for all your replys
How much does the micro ring usually cost? I’ve heard alot about the remi hair so I reckon I’ll probably go for that 1 xxx
Iv just ordered some from http://www.headkandy.com …remi hair, the reviews about them are really good!
I switched to micro rings instead of weaves on Saturday and I have to say I prefer them so much more! It cost £1,065 for a full head of Russian virgin hair. It sounds pricey but most people pay around £700ish. Mine cost more because I like to have them reallyyyy long and my hair is bleached so it’s harder to find a match as virgin hair isn’t dyed. The micro rings are far more lightweight and they blend with my hair far better. Wish I’d started using them ages ago.
Here is the place I go to for anyone who is interested and lives in London: http://www.tatianahairextensions.co.uk/
I think there’s a price list somewhere on the site….she has a salon in Manchester too but I highly recommend the London branch. Really pleased with my results x
