Mine was bent for about a year – It shouldn’t affect it working….

I had it taken out though because it lowered my sex drive massively. Very pleased after having it taken out!! xx

I have had it for 4 years and its great. Was rubbish at taking the pill. This latest one is very close to the surface so can feel it but never known it to bend. Best to get it checked out hun but I’m sure it won’t be anything to worry about. If there is a problem, they will prob just give you a new one. Xx

Hi, had mine over 2 years 3 months after i had my daughter, best thing ever! going to get it re done in sept xx 3 day periods, very light slight pain day b4 day after xx

i stuck it out for 1 year and hated it, i spotted all that time ruined my underware, lowered my sex drive and made me real moody. i have now had the coil fitted. i have no kids so it was sligtly uncomfortable having it fitted. but i love it. having the implant out was a mission and i have a scar on my arm which needed stitches.

on the plus side my friends have had it and swear by it as its caused them no issues. i just wished it worked for me :( x

I had one and like you sarahlouise, loads of problems. It was the constant bleeding which made me come off it. What a bloody nightmare that was, never again! x

I’ve decided I’m going to have it out, I feel pregnant with the hormones constantly sick n dizzy n migraines and stupid irregular bleeding and constant spotting, and not to mention the constant urge to eat, I had it put it in an gained a stone although it hasn’t hurt me id stil like to go back to my original weight I’m just naturally slim. I want it out b4 my op xx

I’ve been totally fine with mine…occasional bleeding but that’s it; I just wish there was a PERMANENT solution other than getting my tubes cut lol I hate periods/bleeding even if it is infrequent :( xx

    Menu

I had that marina coil and had no periods with that bit even then I wernt satisfied lol, I Hate contraception full stop they mess with my hormones and that + me ain’t good lol, but neither would having another baby at this mo in Time lol. So I Think am gona have it out have my op n then go on pill afterwards, pill isn’t too bad I just forget it, lol but il have to set an alarm on mi fone or somethin xx

Ive got the implant had it twice did ur doctor give u the pill to take too for a few weeks this really calms the spotting down and re-regulates u I wudnt be with out mine the injection made me put two and half stone on in 6months…lukily it dropped straight off I never rememberd my pill n the patches left awful sticky plaster marksit took 9 monthsish for my body too settle imto a routine with the implant glad I stuck with it though I have one period in aug n one in sept…i love it :) xx

iv had the coppper coil fitted = no hormones at all, i love it. when i had the implants the doctor gave me the pill to try and make it settle down, which it didnt. so i decided after having all those hormones being put in my body i needed a break. now i am covered for 5 years but with out the hormones being pumped into my body. only down side im back to having regular periods but there are over very quickly and are very light. :)

How often do you have to have the coil refitted sarahlouise? And can you feel it? I’m looking for something non hormonal now I’ve had the implant out xx

    Menu

I wanted the coil but too scard when it comes.to havin it removedits ther for so long surly ur body must start growin tissue around it?? A good method though xx

    Menu

Yea He did. But its not just the bleeding that bothers me with it lol I feel horrible all the time kinda like been pregnant and weight gain which I hate. They settled down but now they have become all erratic again last time I bled really heavy 4 1 month and then it stopped 4 2weeks n now started again :( xx I had the choice between copper coil n merena coil last time they told me copper last for upto 10yrs but makes periods heavier and I already suffer with heavy ones so a dint want them any worse. The merena lasts for 5yr it was good after the 1st 2 month no bleeding at all xx

    Menu

im sure the copper coil i had fitted lasts 5 years, my periods are really light. it was a little uncomfortable having it fitted for about 15sconds but after that its fine. i have no kids and wanted the merena coil but was adviced its slightly bigger then the copper coil and would be more uncomfortable having it fitted, also i wanted no hormones for a change so i opted for the copper coil.

*bethy* my fiance has never commented on being able to feel it – i would def advice to go for it. speak to your nurse.

danielliiee – iv never had it removed but im sure i will be fine. if you can go through a ba im sure the coil will be fine lol x

    Menu

That’s why I had mine removed cause my partner could feel the soft metal things poking him lol aswell as it caused real horrible pains. It could be now it was over 3yrs back wen I had mine xx
