    Are you sure hun?

I used to be an underwear model and it can be lots of fun but it’s also very hard work, it takes up a lot of time and you always have to be in excellent shape…I was like a rake by the time I decided to quit.

I started out on purestorm.com and was then entered into competitions through the Kerri Parker Academy…after that I had a few jobs with the London Glamour Studio but my contract was terminated due to rapid, extreme weight loss and I was no longer wanted.

Modelling is fiercely competitive and can also be very expensive too; a portfolio can cost £500 minimum and most agencies won’t want to know if you don’t have one. Also when you first start out your travel expenses etc aren’t likely to be covered. These days it is getting harder to get work, mainly because photographers and agencies are going over to countries in Eastern Europe where they can fly there for cheap and pay the girls virtually nothing, maybe £80 – £100 (that equates to nearly a months wages in those countries) and it cuts costs massively, so they prefer to use those models. Most of the girls you see in catalogues or magazines are not British….It can take a very long time to get in a high profile magazine; the best way to get to that level is to know someone and have some sort of connection. Remember, unless you get a massive break, modelling is a very temporary career path and most people have another occupation along side it as it simply doesn’t pay enough any more with the rates some girls are working for…blame this shitty economy!

The most money to be made at the moment is through adult entertainment; this can range from full frontal/open leg nudes to film making…don’t know if that’s something that you’d be interested in, personally it’s not for me but each to their own! Even with the increased pay, agencies still prefer to use girls from overseas because they will do a lot more for a lot less.

I’m not trying to put you off in any way, it’s just that a lot of people go into modelling without thinking it through properly and considering all the factors that come with it.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do xx
