Omg!! I really am shocked to hear we have a tube!
No u not awake lol I didn’t no ether lol I woke up n said god y I got a sore throat urll b fine x
I guess it’s something they don’t want us to know about! Lol – sounds very scary!!!
have you ever seen the film “Awake”? Im shit scared thatll happen to me…its where the anaesthetic has like paralysed this guy whos having a heart transplant, but he can still FEEL and HEAR everything thats going on around him :-[
No, you’ll be asleep when they put it in. They take it out when you start waking up but you’ll be so out of it you won’t realise or remember. X
No you wont be awake so dont worry guys
And I didnt even have a sore throat either, really not anything to worry about xxx
I’m such a baby! I’m scared cos I’m at hospital alone! I need a buddy to hold my hand! Lol
Whats it there for? to ensure we are breathing? I guess it sounds scary but we wont know about it- we will be K.O’d and wont even have a clue whats going on! Thank god!x
It’s just there to ensure you get enough oxygen. You should be breathing on your own as they don’t paralyse you as they do in other operations. But anaesthetic does slow your breathing down a little so this will just make sure you’re ok. It’s nothing to worry about and you won’t remember having it. Xx
Ill be at Highgate with Mr Adamo on 2nd Feb fingers crossed> Will find out tomorrow. I’m sure you’ll find someone on same date x
Thanks LINZI… Very best of luck, I would love the chance to move my op forward as my mam is off work for a week on Jan 24th & could help me wiv my twins! (hubby is home from work but 2 people would b better to look after 2 babies)
Is there no way that they can squeeze you in a bit sooner? Or change surgeon maybe? Mr Adamo is amazing apparently. All Ive read is good about him so I cant wait to meet him tomorrow! x
If I hadn’t known about having a tube before the op I wouldn’t have even known about it, absolutely nothing to worry about – I didn’t even get a sore throat (so I’m wondering if they Even used one lol although I’m fairly sure they did xxx
Think they used one on me cos I had a bit of a dry throat, but honestly it is nothing. A glass o water and you’ll be spot on again Xx
I was coming around and vaguely remember them taking one out but it didn’t hurt at all and my throat felt fine. There was even a nurse sat by my side with a cup of water and straw for me which I thought was sweet lol!
Well gurls I’m 6 weeks post op un iv only just learnt I had a tube coz I read this post lol so clearly u don’t no bout it hahaa xx
OMG Bexepie!! I saw AWAKE the other night. BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG mistake!! x x
i never had anything down my throat or at least i think i didn’t. I had my op with mr traynor on dec 22nd and anethsist said i would have the anesthetic by hand no one said anything about the throat and i am sure that i would have felt theafter math. I would have thought thats something they would mention in pre op consultation before the surgery. what surgery are you having a regular ba or with an uplift aswell which may mean you are out for longer and need it. it may depend on surgeon to. They would have to say, don’t they? If i did have one i never felt a sore throat in the slightest and no one was by my bed with water when i came around. You’ll be fine all you hae to do is relax and go to sleep. Your throat will be the last thing on your mind, you’ll be lapping up the new puppies lol.
They always use tubes with anaesthetic. Its to help you breathe during the op. You just dont know about it because you’re asleep before they put it in and take it out. some people dont feel the effects at all. Ive had 3 ops and only had the sore throat once. dont panic girlies x x x
Its a scary-ass film
specially if ur going for surgery yourself…..
I had a tube still in when I came round in recovery and tried to sit up before they’d had chance to take it out..whoops!
Yeah its standard procedure and nothing to worry about! Oh yeah I didn’t have a sore throat either, even after trying to sit up!
