    hello all

I have a list of questions that some of you may be able to help me with, so here goes:

driving, I have to do a 3 hour drive twice a week to and from work as I work away, I have nearly two weeks of work and my hubby has kindly offered to drive me when I return, with it then being Easter it will be 3 weeks before I drive, how much discomfort am I possibly going to be in?

Post op check up – tape removal etc, a lot of you have mentioned getting the tape removed and having a check up with a nurse after a week, did you go to the clinic, back to the hospital for this or are you able to go to your own doctors?

Pre-op, how long before did you have this done, I am having my op on the 21st of March and still had no mention of when this is to be done? In all fairness I did get slotted into a cancellation so have only had this booked for nearly 2 weeks now but still i would expect to have had or at least due to have it by now!!

Last one, I have a tattoo booked for this coming Friday, starting to think it’s not a good idea so close to my op, what does everyone else think? I booked it months ago as there was a 4 month waiting list so before I got my op date!!

    thanks everyone x

Ahh I am so glad it’s not just me waiting for my Op time! I’m due in for my BA on 3rd April. I have exactly the same questions going through my head! I am sure I must be irritating my PC by now with all my questions for her. I’m a teaching Assistant and have roughly 2 weeks off work. They reassured me this is enough time and from what I have read on here, most people have felt pretty good days afterwards!

    xx

Hey hun, I was driving 4 days post op, did a long drive on day 6.

I had bandages off the day after my op and had the dressings replaced at my one week checkup.

I had my pre op 2 weeks before; they usually reccomnend getting it done 2 to 3 weeks before your op so the results are in date

You can’t have any tattoos or piercings 6 weeks before your op because of the risk of infection

I had a really good experience with my BA, I was back to normal with a couple of days xxx

yeah thought the tattoo thing would be a bad idea, it literally only occurred to me this morning.

driving doesn’t appear to be an issue especially as it will be at least 3 weeks before I need to drive so my 1st long run should be a doddle, especially if you did one after 6 days Dolly :)

I am getting quite nervous that they haven’t even arranged my pre-op yet and my PC said they will contact me direct, they haven’t! x

What is the pre op? I’m booked in for 24th. When I had my consultation with my surgeon I did see nurse after and did swabs and some blood tests, get weighed etc, is this it? Xx
