OMG I think I have an infection!

My scars weeping! I was a little worried about it itching but didn’t read too much into it. I REALLY hope it’s not, going to see the nurse tomorrow ;( so scared right now xx

It’s just weeping a little clear stuff not puss or anything. I wish I’d got a Macom now because i think my bra rubbed on it and made the scab come off I’m seeing the nurse at 11am. I’m trying to stay calm but my hearts racing and I feel so anxious! x

U really need to order the macom chic if blood starts to weep then get nervous u will be fine hun Remember U will get an expert tomoz xx

How long does the Macom take to arrive? Do you think I should just go braless for the time being? Thanks hunn xx

Khanni, Don’t panic! If you have clear fluid weeping from your wounds I personally don’t think you have an infection. You only need to worry if this fluid is green/yellow. (more green than yellow). This is what my nurse told me. I got some HIBISCRUB surgical soap from my GP before my op on repeat prescription to wash with post op, it’s an antibacterial. When you see your nurse ask for plenty of steri strips and pads whilst you’re healing so if you do have any open wounds from stitching you can keep them covered up whilst you’re healing to avoid infection. i just got in and made my sister take a closer look, she said everything looks fine and it looks like the scab has come off on the edge but she said it’s not red or anything like that..i feel better now, i should have got a macom from day 1! your right your paying all that money so it’s SO not worth the risk. I hope i get the all clear tomorrow then i can just stop thinking the worst. GET A MACOM PRE OP GIRLS!!!!

I ordered my Macom bra and it arrived the next day and I didn’t pay extra for it… Plus I sent it back as thought I’d be better going for the bigger size and the new bra arrived within 2 days, super quick! x

one of my scars wept for 3 days after the stitches were taken out & the nurse told me to keep it covered & change dressing daily however by changing dressing this made it weep a little more. I have got a macom bra & due to how it is designed i was able to wear the bra for support but tuck it up a bit on one side so that the scar could dry out. If i were you i would leave bra of for a bit & let the air get to it. I would recommend the macom tho as i dont even feel like i am wearing a bra when i have got it on it is sooo comfortable.

Thanks girls. I’m so glad I noticed early. The nurse said as my right scar was hot to the touch, red and weeping I may have a small infection or it could be because my bras been rubbing on it. she took a swab to see if it is or not. Bandaged me up with an iodine strip placed on the scar to dry it out. I’ve been given antibiotics and I’ll be seeing the nurse on Friday. I really hope the swab comes back clear xx

Hopefully it will come back clear khanni. At least you noticed early and they are on the case with anti biotics. If it is infected, I’m sure it’ll clear up quickly, try not to worry hun xxx

I was told to wash Macom before use & was regular… I personally didn’t like my Macom as it rubbed my scars! Think it was too small… I feel it squashes my boobs down and I can’t wait to get it off! It’s brill cos it does up in front which is a god send…

Hi Khanni, i hope you’re feeling better hun, i know its easy to say but try not to worry. Anti biotics will see you right. I had my dressings off today and had a blister underneath nurse said it could be a reaction to the dressings but it’s sore and uncomfortable and weepy!!!

you can use the code on the actual macom site hunn, and thanks girls, it’s not too bad at all in terms of how it looks and feels. no puss, it just weeped yesterday morning, im hoping it was a reaction to my bra scratching the scab off and nothing more. the only two signs are the slight redness/inflammation and it’s a tad hot to the touch (i can’t tell the nurse said)I know the anti biotics will sort the infection, if i have got one so i’m a lot better now. i’ll just be over the moon if the swab comes back clear because although it’s VERY VERY unlikely i can’t help but think a slight infection will cause CC or some other problem xx
