They wouldn’t even let me apply on my own – am self employed. So I applied with my boyf whos in the army so got good guaranteed wage, and theyve still said no. My credit rating is fantastic, I’ve only got a car to pay for – no other loans etc. I just don’t get it x

are you a home owner? i think if your self employed you need to be a home owner thats what the guy on the phone told me x

Nope, tenant. I work aswell. Butas soon as anyone hears the words self employed they just stop you in your tracks.

save in an an account where you need yours and someone elses signature then you cant touch it and if you do it in an issa you will get interest on it xx

my step dad whos said he will be my guarentour is self employed so i hope that wont go against it cause hes a home owner, am gunna ring them this sat and if they say no god knows what im gunna do.

babes if ur credit is good can u get a credit card? the marks and spencer one is interest free for 15 months, my credit is awful and no one would even think about lending me money so my mum took the credit card out for me, i want it paid off asap so mum tks a certain amount off me everymonth and pays it into an ISA she then pays the minimum payment on the credit card then at the end of the 15 months were gonna tk all the momey out the ISA (which will of earnt interest) and hopefully card will be all paid off sorry bit of an eassay but if u hv someone who would help u like that then its worth a try xxx

Thing is if u put a large amount on a credit card and u take a year to pay it off it puts u back into bad credit! I tried to do that. Because my credit hasn’t been tested as in I havnt had a credit card only direct debits which isn’t debt I couldn’t take out a loan! Luckily my parents are paying n I’m paying them back. To get a good credit rating for a mortage etc take out a bank credit card n pay off what u spend every month even if it’s 50 a month it ups ur credit score. Sorry for the essay lol xx

I have a credit card but the limit is nowhere near enough. My credit rating is fantastic apparently. And my boyfriends is. I’ve never paid a phone bill late or anything! Always been good like that.

so sorry to hear this. Sometimes they say even if you have a credit rating of 999 (highest) some people still wont give you finance, have you actually bought your credit report? what you usually have to do is get a credit card with a small limit and then purchase stuff on it and pay off straight away and this bumps up your credit limit.
