on surgery day…

Do you get much of a chance to talk to your surgeon before the op? I want to check he is sure about giving me overs rather than unders…

I had about 15 minutes with Helena and I had a list of last minute questions ready for when she arrived in the room, be prepared because they often come and see you in between their previous ops so they are moving around quickly and there were 7 girls in back to back on my op day xx

ok thanks, it’s such a basic question that I don’t want to book another consultation, but I just want to be sure about it, and I’m really not at the moment! xx

totally understand and I felt the same, i asked just before she did mine:

1. Will you make sure that you reshape my nipples and size them appropriately for my new boobs?

2. Is it right that you gave me the same size implants on each side when you told me i had different size boobs?

3. I took a pic in off someones i found on the internet that i didn’t like the look of (might sound mean and not from this site!!) and said, i definetley do not want them as wide as this..

4. We agreed on the size again

It all probably sounds over the top and like i was telling her how to do her job but I needed to make sure she understood what I was wanting to acheive as i only had one chance at this xxx

Ah yeah (2) is one thing I thought about too. That’s made me feel better that it isn’t just me who’s wants to make sure they know exactly what is going on! I know I am supposed to wholeheartedly trust my surgeon, but I am the one who will be living with the implants, so it’s really important that I get as close to what I am hoping for I guess xxx

absoloutley! and I kept thinking she sees so many girls every day, there’s always a chance that she’s forgetten to check that particular detail about mine.. so I felt it was best to check. I also felt a million times better once I’d seen her and she had answered my questions at the hospital, i then totally relaxed as she assured me that she would do a good job on them and I was confident that it was fresh in her mind what I was going for. It’s all just about getting that extra reassurance for let’s face it, something that is life changing for us xx
