    Hi Girls,
    I had my appointment with a nurse on Monday and I’ve got an op this Sunday, excited! But my minds gone totally blank now, and I can’t remember anything the nurse said.
    I remember she said, shower on the day of op, no moisturizer or deodorant.. so I suppose no make up either is allowed?
    How many hours before are we not supposed to eat and drink?
    And has anyone been to the Bridgewater Hospital, Manchester? What is it like there?

    Thankies!

    Nope you can’t wear any make up, eating is 6 hours before and drinking water is 2 hours before!
    Good luck! 😀 xx

    @tracyface , thank you so much love. I feel well informed once again 🙂 Yeah, I had my nails removed yesterday. Is the cubicle spacious, as in can I have my husband there as well, or is it teeny tiny? Sure, will let you all know how it all went. How long was your day in total, if you don’t mind me asking, from admission time to being allowed to go home? x

    @aneteerdogan no problem! The cubicle was ok, there’s a bed for you and a chair for your partner, the TV screens are so tiny though, I never even bothered lol, just used my iPad! My hubby was in there, it’s probably as big as you would have on a normal ward!

    My admission time was 11.30am, I got there super early at 10.30 and was shown to my cubicle at 11am. I didn’t leave until 11.10pm on the evening! If you go on to my profile and look at my Patient Story and I’ve written it all down so you can see how my day went there! xx

    @aneteerdogan no problem, I’ve accepted!

    It could be a long day, as you have to wait for the surgeon to finish all the girls surgeries before he comes around to sign you off. Then you have to wait for the nurses to come around afterwards and take out any drains and cannulas, so be prepared!!

    When you get there, ask where you are on the list and how many girls he’s operating on. I was 6th out of 11 girls (having BAs and rhino!) with an 11am admission time, so it sounds like you are one of the first 🙂

    It may have just been a bad day as some girls have been in and out of Bridgewater in 6 hours – so let us know.

    Good luck xx
