Op TOMORROW – STILL don't know if it's going ahead!!!!

Ok girls – so my consultation was on 6th January. I was confident which surgeon I wanted already, so I booked the op there and then, for the 27th Jan (3 weeks away) with Mr Kazzazi. I actually managed to get squeezed in for my pre op that day too (great, I thought – saved me a trip coming back through to the clinic). Then a week later, I get a letter from my GP saying that they had done recent blood tests on me and they’d found that I had a low platelet count. So I phoned my nurse and she said that I could have a blood test when I came in for my surgeon consultation (on 17th Jan). I had my consultation with Mr K, and had the bloods taken. So the blood sample took a few days to get tested…then I had to see my GP to get him to fax through my notes for Mr K, and the Mya top office people….and basically I still haven’t heard if I can have the op or not!!! I keep calling (they must be sick of me) and keep getting put off each day. So apparently I’ll find out this morning…we’ll see! My nurse Lucy, is amazing and couldn’t have done more to help, bless her.

I’m soooo stressed as I have arranged a babysitter overnight for my kids and need to prepare and arrange the house, get shopping in etc….my husband has taken a week off work…we booked a premier inn etc….and I don’t what’s going to happen!

I’m so envious of you girls who are all excited because I just can’t get excited when I don’t know what’s going to happen.

Sorry for the ranted essay….just needed to get it off my saggy flat chest!

Op is cancelled I have to see a blood specialist to see what’s happening with my fluctuating platlet levels, then once they know what’s happening, we can go from there. Could be months and months…. Well at least they are investigating my problems and hopefully it’s nothing too serious xx
