My Experience.
Started my journey at 3.30pm Sunday,arrived at kingscross London around 8pm,my hotel was just over the road from the station so I did’nt have far to walk,the hotel was very basic but clean,I just needed a bed for the night,as my admission time was 8.30 at the Highgate Hospital,first on Mr Gonschiors list. I ordered a taxi to make sure that I reached the hospital on time,the taxi came early,I was at Highgate for 7.45,the young lady on reception asked me to fill out a form,she was really nice very friendly,and planning Rhinoplasty herself with Mr Gonschior, she made a call,and a nurse came and took me to my room.
The room was lovely very spacious and modern,I was shown where to put my clothes and case and also given instructions on how to use the safe for my personal belongings,I had a TV and access to wifi.
The nurse came in we completed a medical questionnaire,I think she was going to do a pregnancy test,but I told her I was past my sell by date in that department,and showed her the form I had from my doctor stating that I was post menopause,she took a reading my blood pressure weighed me and measured my height,then she measured my legs for the stockings,she said that I could get changed in to the gown and paper pants,then I met the anaesthetist,again some more questions about my health in general and my allergies,no sooner had he left the room,enter the miracle worker himself Mr Gonschior,he asked me how I was feeling,we discussed the operation,and I showed him the pictures of the nose I would like to have on my face,he said that we have to be realistic and he would do his best to achieve similar for me but he could not promise,this made me feel even more confident that I had chosen the right surgeon for my procedure. Honest and genuine.
9.15,Nurse came to take me to theatre,I was not nervous at all,just excited,I lay on the bed chatting away,the anaesthetist put a strap on my arm and asked me to make a fist,I felt a little scratch,he put a little mask over my mouth,….then I was waking up in recovery,starving. Iwas taken back to my room,about 2.30pm,felt fine,put in my nice warm bed and brought some tea and toast,all the staff were absolutely amazing they could not do enough for me,the nurse kept coming in to check my blood pressure,asking me if I needed any pain relief,but I was fine. All I seemed to do was eat,the food was lovely,and there were no time restrictions,the nurses were more than happy to contact the kitchen no matter what time it was,I was having fish and seasonal vegetables at 2 am,followed by fruit salad and ice cream. I could not sleep,I was too excited.
Mr Gonschior came to see me he said that my nose was badly damaged inside,from a previous break,he had grafted some cartilage from behind my ear,to repair inside my nose,he felt very confident that I will get a good result,he would like me to keep the cast on for a little bit longer than 12 days,I don’t mind how long the cast stays on,because I am happy and confident,that there will be a big improvement,when it comes off,already the tip of my nose looks a lot smaller,even in the cast,I am so happy,I had a wonderful experience at the Highgate Hospital.
I would like to thank MYA for all they have done for me,from first contact,all the staff have been amazing,Hannah Gibson my PC from the Holborn clinic,arranging everything for me,Monica my nurse, taking in to account the distance I was travelling,and even sending my file across to the Newcastle clinic so that I do not have too far to travel for my follow up appointments,and of course the man himself Mr Gonschior.
I have used other companies for cosmetic surgery procedures before,and they were fine,but MYA are excellent,I can not praise this company enough for the experience they have given me.
