Operation times

i think the earliest admission time for daycase is 7.30 but does anyone know how early they start operations? and can you ask to be early on the list or do you just get given a time? thanks xxx

You just get given a time, dont think you can pick..
I was 4th and went down at half 11..
Think the earliest will be 9.30 ish, just a guess..

You are told as it it put in order of priority i.e. if someone is having op who has diabetes or is epileptic they get done first as they are highest risk so they like to give them as much time in the hospital when the surgeons are there. I asked to be first on the list and was told that – no choice really.

ok thanks that makes sense i guess if you could ask everyone would want earliest time anyway. do you know what tme they start operating? if they on 4th one by half 11 they must start pretty early. i still got a while to wait and already nervous so think il be a nightmare on the actual day xxx

Yeh u just get given a time!I had to be there at 10 and didn’t have op til 5!!!was bit annoying!!and was starving!xxx

At a guess I would say 8am to get through 5 in a day which is what they usually do per surgeon. I’m not so much worried just very very impatient – I hate waiting around when I could be off doing something more productive – erm like shopping haha! I think I’m gona wana chew my arm off if they take ages!

I’m transform. getting picked up 11am (Newcastle) for admission at 2pm. So hoping I will be wheeled straight in cos gonna be bricking it ((( x

admission in manchester !

Hey i was an overnight but was admitted at 7.30 (in Highgate london) and had my op at about 9.30 i guess. xxx

When I went to highgate my surgeon had 11 in one day!!!which is prob why I waited so long lol xxx
