Haven’t had my surgeon consultation yet, but was wondering what the difference is with over and unders, is it a look thing or do you recover quicker from one type then the other…..confused.com ??????

I was mega confused too…it depends on how ur built and what ur boobs r like and what look your going for…i wanted unders coz the muscle masks the implant a bit so it looks more natural, and there is less interference with mamograms bfeeing etc and less chance of seeing the edge of implant and ripping so was quite happy when surgeon said thats what we were going for, im really thin uptop so he said overs would be a disaster coz youd see the implant easily buttt overs are less painfull, quicker recovery and if you want the big round look youd get it easier with overs! just wait and see what ur surgeon advises for you…i seen a few guys and one of them said overs for me, so glad i shopped about or it would have been a waste of 4g! Gook luck! xx

Hi hun, like you I wanted the natural look but I didn’t get a choice in having unders or overs. Most surgeons will tell you one way or another what you need. I went to Mario Russo and he told me I would need unders.

In a way I was pleased, as have heard that they can look more natural and there is less chance of capsular contraction and rippling, but on the other side, I have two young kids to look after so need a fast recovery time.

In the end, I put my faith in my surgeon, and had the unders, because ultimately, the extra healing time is worth it in the long run to having amazing boobs.

I am 6 days post op today from implant and uplift and I won’t lie, going behind the muscle is pretty sore. It’s not really a pain that I feel, but a real tightening, like I’m wearing the tightest corset that is quite restrictive, and it is hard to take a really deep breath. But it does get better, every day I am noticing I can breathe a bit easier and do more. I am still finding it hard to lift my baby but luckily my hubby has another week off work so really need to make sure I get rest now so I’ll be OK when I’m on my own again.

Good luck when you have your consultations and let us know what they offer you xxx

I had unders and had no pain at all :) I had the choice of either as I had enough breast tissue for overs if I wanted, but opted for under as there is (apparently) less chance of rippling and other complications etc. I have seen both overs and unders look really natural, or quite fake, depending on what look the girl wanted. All the surgeons will give you what YOU want to the best of their ability. Trust their advice xx
