overs or unders- i found a useful site

Thats my only problem at he moment im trying to decide whether to have overs or unders. dr fallahdar told me i can have either, but i wasnt quite sure so i did some research and found a very useful site; http://www.advanced-art.com/Breast-Aug-Over-Under.htm But some opinions would be very useful. anyone had completely under the muscle? i didn’t realise that their was 3ways to pace an implant in.

Aghhh…i’m scared of having overs after reading that. They make them sound really bad. I’m just worried about going under because i have a physical job and don’t want it to become painful to work and lose strength. But overs sound like they have so many disadvantages! Eeek!! x

i totaly agree. my jobs crazy physical too, but that has also put me off overs. i think i might go with completely under the muscle- aparently that techniques the hardest though. x

I had under the muscle 4 weeks ago.

there is nothing to worry about the surgeons have done it thousands of times.

its just a week of feeling stiff and achey,nothing over bearing

I’ve only got until wednesday. do you think i can change my mind and tell the surgeon on the day? I don’t know what to do now, i’m sure mr adamo will be doing whats best, but i’m scared of all the risks! What job do you do Angel? xx

Hey fiona it’ll be fine i would let your patient coordinater know strait away, and i can’t see it being a problem changing your mind. i’m an events coordinater, and im a manager at a coffee shop which involves lots of heavy lifting. good luck im sure you wil look beautiful with your new boobs xx

I had unders on Tuesday and your just sore and stiff and sleepings abit uncomfy for the first few nights. You can change your mind maybe just ring your co orinator to double check but on the day your surgeon will come in your room and double check your ok with everything (eg, size and under/overs) xx

Thanks girls, i’m going to have to really think about it. I’m the worlds worst worrier anyway, i’m going to be so paranoid about them. But yeh on that website it basically said because of all the risks with overs they try not to do them anymore. Partial and full unders have hardly any risk with them. xx

omg i never knew any of this i thought i done my research lol i just read that overs cant believe it i have been told it has no affects on mammogram & unlikely to get cc i was told unders were worse for cc confused now

i dont think there is a better way, it is different for each individual person. mine are over and they are great, i have friends that have had under and there’s are great. your surgeon just says what will give you the best result. just trust them they have been doing it for a long time. good luck with everything x

Will definitley let you know how it goes Angel, you must be getting excited too…not too long for you to wait now is it.

Cazxpink…apparently they say that if you have them under there is less chance of cc because they are constantly being massaged by the muscle, so with overs i think its best to make sure you massage them quite a bit. Although i’ve also read that you shouldn’t if they are the textured implants. Its all so confusing sometimes. It is a bit harder to see anything on a mammogram but if you have one you just have to tell them so they can use a different method for you, so that they can see round the implant i think. xx

I am almost three weeks post op and I had overs, I did alot of research and readin that link, only tells me a surgeon’s opinion. I mean one surgeon above every other surgeon who recommends after they see you. The NHS equally carry out their investigation especially on a poll of women who’s had it done over a period of time. And I believe the NHS watch out for us, and are not bias.If it was that bad, they would discorage us, more still can u imagine goin unders for a lady with lot of breasts tissue????

All am sayin ladies is that dont base your opinion on a surgeon, do more reserch and most importantly, let a recomendation be made accordin to the surgeon who examines your breast. All the beast ladies, overs, partials, unders enjoy ur boobies

Hi Fiona, yes not too long i am very excited. but im sure as it gets closer my nerves will hit me. ive never been in hospital before either so i think it will most definately be a new experience for me xx

You have a good point there grace…thank you thats made me feel alot better. Think as its getting closer i’m just starting to panick about all the things that can go wrong. I expect i would be the same if i was having unders. How are you feeling at 3 weeks post op?

Hey Angel, i’ve been excited for most of my wait, but the nerves have most definitley hit me now! You will be fine, be a good experience for your first hospital stay at least, 5 star private treatment!! I’ve had GA a couple of times so i’m not too worried about that, this time will be so much nicer than having to stay on a ward all night! Have you decided on size and things yet?

hi fiona, well ive not totally decided, but i want to be a d and i think i might stick with 365cc unders but i want subfacial placement of the implant. but i am going to try the rice test but first i need some scales lol xxx

The rice test is good, my scales are rubbish though, i’m sure the 340’s i made were bigger than the real ones. lol! :o) 365 should definitely get you to a d. But don’t forget that you lose a bit of size having unders. xx

I already had mine done in March and they are overs ! Lol – to late for me ! I had no choice but to have overs, I had a lot of breast tissue, but I achieved the big fake round look that I was after .. I doubt they will last as long as under the muscle but to be honest I want to enjoy them now, I’m not bothered what they look like in 5 years time (I’ll have to get them re done if they sag like this website says, lol) my pics are on sofem if anyone wants to see.. I had 460 overs with Dr Adamo xxx

I was told that you can lose up to 20% of the implant size because they are being held down by the muscle. xx
