Overs vs Unders? What's the difference in final result?

Would your boobs look any different if an implant was placed over rather under your muscle? Which option is better? Which one is more natural look? Please Heeelp! xx

hi hun i had mine done 6 yrs ago under the muscle but i think that was down 2 the fact i didnt have much breast tissue like amanda said…also my surgeon was a fan of the more natural look. from pics of sum of the girls on here who have had them over though you can still have that same natural look.

am havin mine re done with mya on 29th nov cos ive breastfed my 2nd son so want new 1s and bigger 1s…my surgeon told me she would b puttin them bck under the muscle unless she is using the bigger implant which she will need 2 put over the muscle. im shittin it this time though lol!

i had my consultation with dr grobb yesterday.

ive paid the deposit n op day is 29th nov.

the good thing that they do is the 24 month interest free finance

i just need 2 decide with the surgeon wot size i want 2 b xx

Hi Kitty, I’d like to have mine done as soon as possible because I have been thinking about this for few years now and want to get it over with! I really don’t know much about it all therefore I started reading thhis blog and I figured out I knew nothing! I mean, it is all co confusing: unders, overs, implant shape, size, structure…! I am just so terrified that I will be dissapointed:/ You know how you imagine something to be and it turnes up totally different. so confused!

What size are you? Are you going bigger this time? Would you be able to breast feed if you had overs instead unders? xx

yeah i think u can still breastfeed if u have overs…they do say u can have limited milk supply with implants though…i had no problem breastfeedin my son though and did so 4 12 months.

but dont worry ur not alone cos we all get terrified…ive had them done b4 n im more scared this time of it going wrong and hating them after.

Awww I’m so excited for you! I want them done now! lol. I’m size C atm. I dont want to go really, really big as huge boobs can make you look a bit fat but on the other hand I dont want to regreat I haven’t gone bigger! And also a natural look is so important for me, and ability to breast feed in the future (haven’t got any children just yet). Because you had your boobs done before – if you were given one smaller and one bigger size to choose from, which one you’d go for? From your own experience – how accurate the size of an implant is to the final size of your boobs? Do they turn up bigger, smaller? Sorry for bombarding you with so many questions:) I just haven’t got a clue ha ha xxx

Hi Karolina, welcome to the forum. I am only 7 days post-op and had overs. I went into my consultations with unders in mind after what I’d read online. I’d been researching for 3-5 years before plucking up the courage to go in. For me, taking off my bra for anyone was a huge ordeal which is what put me off and I could just kick myself for being like that now looking back.

When you meet the surgeons it will really put your mind at rest. They understand how you feel about it because theyve seen thousands of girls the same. Really listen to what they advice you. All 3 surgeons I met advised I should have overs because I had enough tissue not to show the edges of the implant. If you ask for a natural look they will only match you with surgeons that do this kind of work. I am really pleased with my results and you cannot see the implant.

I haven’t yet added my pics because I’m still very swollen but I’ve been taking them since day one and will upload them before the weekend. Add me if you want to have a look. I can guarantee you will feel so much better after your consultation and they will show you before and after pics so you can say which ones you like the look of etc x

Hi, I’ve already said this in another post but it annoys me a bit when people say that overs look ‘faker’ than unders and that you can see them when you bend over etc etc! Do you really think a surgeon would use overs if he thought they were gonna look fake? I had Mr Traynor who is known for the ‘natural look’ and he suggested overs for me straight away because I had plenty of breast tissue. People who have no breast tissue/no breasts have unders as that is the only option available to them! At the end of the day this isn’t really a decision we should be making as the surgeon knows best! Sorry for the rant, Im just sick of reading this about overs xx P.s. Yes, I had overs and do mine look fake? No! Well I hope not anyways xx

Tracy – me too! I also had Mr Traynor and he said he would only put someone through unders if they really needed them, as it’s a longer and more painful healing process. His advice totally changed my mind and I am soooo pleased I listened to what he told me. Yours look really natural I honestly don’t think they look like implants at all, you should be really pleased with them x

I’ve just added you too:) I am awaiting my first consultation on Saturday and I cannot sleep at night because there are so many questions and worries on my mind. I am so relieved to hear that a chat with a surgeon should calm me down and make me more relax about it. It’s a big decission to make it and I just want it to be worth it. What size were you originally and what are you now if you don’t mind me asking? Did your boobs drop since the opp? I am looking forward to see your pictures! xx

Karolina – you will definately feel better after your consultation. Make a list of any real concerns or questions you want answering as you can guarantee that your mind will go blank when you get in there! I had a boobie book which I wrote all my questions down in. lol. You can always go for a 2nd consultation once you’ve digested all the information xx

I was a 34B but apparently a full B, just empty on the top half – so from the side all my tissue sat at the bottom if this makes sense. I am currently in a 36E sports bra but this is because my PC advised to get a bigger back size and bigger cup size for the swelling post-op. I think I will come to down to a 34DD when they’ve settled and I can be measured.

They don’t appear to have dropped yet but I don’t think overs sit too high up anyway as there’s nothing holding them up. See if tracy2010 will add you and look at her pics of overs, they look fab honestly.

I didn’t write my questions down and when I met mr traynor I just blanked and forgot everything! I ended up ringing and texting my PC with all the questions I forgot to ask. That’s a good thing about MYA, your PC will always be a text away if you’re not sure on something – mine has been a godsend and was the reason I booked with MYA.

I had Mr Traynor too for overs on the 15th June this year and mine look sooo natural you can hardly even tell thay i’ve had surgery at all…

Unders or Overs can look just as natural, it all comes down to the size you choose really, the bigger you go the more stretched your skin will be and then you will end up with the fake look.

i had 525 overs from a c and they look natural……i went out saturday night and a girl said i had great boobs, i said thanks they cost four grand so they should look good lol….she could not believe that they were fake so had had a poke lmao xxx

right i had:525 hp overs standard cuis i was a 34c and now i measure a 34 ff to g but the ffs are getting a tad tight now.

they are a great size and shape and feel so soft and squidgy and give a good jiggle lol xx

Yeah, I want my to wobble too he he he. Did you fully follow the advice of your surgeon then? I wanted mine to be a tear drop shape but I’ve heard they may turn and what then?! I didn’t realize that standard implants can look so natural! Did it influence your back at all? Are they really heavy? xx

yes hun i followed every bit of advice dr singh gave me……i have also heard that the tear drop can turn and some surgeons dont like to use them.

i am so happy with the implants i had. they are not heavy at it feels like i have had them forever xx
