Hi Girls, I had my surgery on Thursday and am just seeing if anyone had any similar pains to me at this time. I am wearing a macom which feels super tight.

On day of surgery after I felt absolutely fine just stiff. POD 1 sore and a lot more stiff but still fine. The weird gurgling air pockets are so strange not enjoying them!! POD2 I’m feeling a lot stiffer and more sore. I had a wave of feeling nauseous and sick earlier and my right boob (the bigger implant due to a-symmetry) felt super hard and like my body was trying to push it out. Coughing from feeling sick felt horrendous! My rib cage underneath my macom is super sensitive to the touch as well as the outer sides of my breasts (under my armpits). I am feeling much better now but just wondering if I’m not alone in these pains!

I am in contact with the nurse and my surgeon for further advice. But any tips/mutual experiences would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks girls.

Hey hun sorry to hear ur feeling so ill. I felt really sick when I got home and worked out it was the cocodemol that was making me really queasy so I stopped taking it and swapped to paracetamol 500mg. I had pains on the outer side of the breasts, under armpits and incisions too. I think thts a normal aide effect tbh.

I found that ice packs under my armpits helped with tht. Try to stay hydrated and eat even if u can only manage some fruit, yoghurt, nuts or crackers. I found eating around the time my meds were due helped a lot also.

Feeling queasy and tired is a general reaction to all the meds u have have pumped into ur body so try not to worry! I’m pod5 and only now just feeling myself. I got lightheaded before cos I haven’t eaten enough and blood sugar levels prob really low.

U have done the right thing by contacting the nurse but I think in general u should be super worried if one boob gets super swollen or if u get a high temperature. Try to get comfy and have lots of fluids
    Hope that helps fx

I’m POD5 and I’ve been feeling exactly the same! My boobs are burning and have shooting pains if I move. They feel extremely tight and like they’ll explode from under my muscle!! I have times in the day when it’s a bit easier but most of the time I’m in agony 🙁 Macom dug into my skin too much and felt way too tight on my boobs so got a sports bra from M&S which is more comfortable.

Everyone’s recovery is different and I think it’s normal, just unfortunate. It’ll all be worth it in the log run and when you’re more comfortable and love the way they look, you’ll forget you ever had this pain!

Hi Beth, I also had my Op on Thursday & can say you are not alone in feeling this pain! I don’t know what I expected, I knew it would be painful but I didn’t realise I wouldn’t be able to do anything myself. I can’t flush the loo, pump the hand soap, turn the tap on…nothing! I can only move my arms from my elbows down. If I try to move them even a cm it feels as if my muscles are contracting and then I feel spams across my chest and pain. I’ve had to loosen my Macom as I felt like I couldn’t breathe. My back, ribs, stomach is very tendor to touch, it’s all bruised & I think that’s what’s causing the most pain to be honest! I’ve sent u a friend request. Roll on next week is all I can say!x

Thank you for your comments girls! I’m in so much pain which is making me sick, as well as the painkillers making me feel sick. I don’t know whether I’m hot or cold or up or down it’s ridiculous! I have to go back to Preston on Monday with the possibility of another operation on my right breast because it’s way too swollen. Fingers crossed it goes down naturally and I don’t need another operation 🙁 feeling so gutted about the whole thing!

Hi Beth I was in Preston on Monday for my op @2pm. What time were you operated on? I am now day3 post op and I am OK if I stay still but as soon as I move to go to the loo or anything my breasts are very painful. Especially my right breast. The swelling is the same both but the twinges are horrendous. I have cried loads haha and I never cry! I really hope your 2ND op was successful. I had 400/375cc. I don’t know whether mine are above or below the muscle which is really annoying. Mounir was going to assess the best option when he opened me up but when I woke up he was gone and no one was able to tell me. Great service from MYA overall but I will be complaining about that as I feel it’s important information that I need to know. Also, one of the nurses was cleaning up my bloody hand with no gloves on – big no no for me. I had to ask her to put gloves on…
