Hi girls
I’m post op day 1 today and love them, but I’m in so much pain. I’ve been taking cocodamol one tablet every four hours.
I would just like advice on what you were taking after op, as it says I can take two but the nurse said it would space me out. I’m already falling asleep after an hour from taking one. Also does anyone have tips to make it better. I’ve been using the ice pack which helps.
Thanks 🙂 xxx
Hey hun. I took the maximum I could for the first 4/5 days as I was in agony – it was way worse than I expected. I was taking 2 codeine and paracetamol every 4 hours. I also had ice on my chest and a hot water bottle on my back constantly – that seemed to help a lot. I was really drowsy as well, I often fell asleep but it was better than being in pain! Xxx
Hi Hun, I’m post op day 5 now and I took 2 tablets every 5 hours but even with that I was still in agony! It’s on today that iv started feeling a bit better!! Just take the max u can just eat with them and u should be ok!! 🙂 I never thought the pain would get better but each day I does iv smash the first 4 days where the worst for me!! Xx
I was only given paracetamol and ibuprofen! The more upright I sat the more comfortable I was but to be honest not much helped, unfortunately you just have to ride it out, it won’t be this bad for more than a week x
Thanks for all your replies, I’ll definitely try hot water bottle, got ice packs constantly. I’ll deffo up my tablets to two then. I’m so pleased this forum exists id be lost otherwise xxx
You could go to your GP and get tramadol prescribed if not they might give you nefopam xx
Did they discharge you with cocodamol? I would have liked some of that. I’ve been given paracetamol and codeine which is making me very constipated (sorry) and I’m struggling to sleep! X
