Hi ladies, I booked my op on Tuesday for 2nd December with Mr. Marcellino (mega excited!). I paid my deposit and was told I had to make the final payment by this Friday (tomorrow) although the email they sent me said 23rd (Monday). Yesterday I had 3 phone calls saying that they wouldn’t be able to take a card payment anymore as its only 13 days till my op and the funds won’t have time to clear. Since when does it take 13 days for funds to clear? I’ve been asked to withdraw it and pay it all in cash. I’ve just checked and I physically cannot withdraw that amount of cash from my credit card, it’s like £500 maximum. I’ve got an exam today so I can’t go to the bank anyway. Has anyone had experience of this? It’s stressing me out. On Tuesday they agreed cash and card on Friday would be fine. If they call me today and won’t accept my card payment I think I’ll just ask for my deposit back as it’s ridiculous!

Yes I had the same, I was also 13 days before when I went to pay on an interest free credit card and they said I had to do a bank transfer cos they won’t take payment off a card that late. I don’t know what takes that long for it to clear, but I had to move my date by a week 🙁 which was annoying but the only thing I could do! So it went from the 4th November to the 11th November. It’s worth waiting an extra week rather than getting the stupid charges you get on credit cards to do bank transfers I wouldn’t do that! But I suppose if you’ve only got that week off work or something that would be difficult. They told me the only way for me to go ahead was to change my date. It’s a pain I know but they should have made you aware of it. I got told that much info on the day I booked it that if she told me about it I probably didn’t remember xxx

Omg really? I really don’t want to move my date but I don’t really have an option if I physically can’t withdraw that amount of the credit card at the cash point 🙁 grrr it’s just annoying that on Tuesday when I told them my plans it was fine and now suddenly it’s not.

Anyway, how did your op go Hun? Who did you have yours with? xxx

I know I was gutted!! Maybe you can just move it by 2 days or something because you can pay 14 days before 🙂 so if you paid tomorrow then moved it a few days if they have space that shouldn’t be as bad? And my op went good thanks, non of it was anywhere near as bad as I thought! I thought I would be having a panic attack and all sorts in the hospital ? but everyone were so nice and kept me calm and even put me to sleep first with gas before the put the needle in my hand which I thought was great 🙂 I’m on day 8 now and just starting to feel a little bit normal ? although the pain was never as bad as I assumed, I could get my self dressed and everything straight after surgery which I thought I would need help with 🙂 hope you get something sorted! I wouldn’t pay the charges credit cards charge to withdraw money it’s ridiculous! Also I was at Preston hospital with Mr Traynor xxx

Oh I’m so glad it went really well. It puts my mind at ease a bit hearing things like that! I’m glad the pain isn’t too bad too. My boyfriend is coming with me but the next day he’s away for 4 days so I’ll be home alone but sounds like I’ll be able to do basic things anyway. I’ll just veg on the sofa for a few days lol.
Yesterday, MYA rang me about my payment and I said I’d need my deposit back as I couldn’t withdraw cash from my credit card. Then she asked if I’d thought about finance which is what I wanted in the first place but was told I couldn’t. So luckiky I was approved and able to pay half on my credit card and the rest on finance over 10 months. Well happy with that and as it stands my op is still going ahead on 2nd December! Eeek! I’m getting excited now 😀 xxx
