Personal belongings whilst at hospital

Hi girls,
So my ops a week today!! Ahhh. I’m just wondering what happens with our personal belongings whilst we are down for surgery? I’m a worrier and worried I’ll lose my phone or something important. Do they have lockers or anything? The person coming with me wont be staying at the hospital so I have no one to look after my things whilst I’m down.
Also what did you all take to the hospital with you?

Good luck with your Op! I had mine at Fitzroy in London and in the room there was a lockable cupboard where I put my bag and belongings, I had my mum with me and she kept my phone for me but the rest of my stuff was put in the cupboard!
I didn’t take a lot with me for my Op and didn’t use much anyway, I was a daycase but took some Button up PJ’s, clean underwear, hair brush, roll on deodorant and some baggy jogging bottoms and a big zip up hoodie to wear on the way home. Along with my Macom. When I got there in my room was slippers and a dressing gown so I was glad I didn’t bring anything like that for walking down to theatre! Then I just had my iPad and magazines to try and keep myself busy while waiting

@samigeorgiex thanks hun! I hope I have a locked cupboard, where did you put the key though as you can’t have metal in the op room? I’m a day case, I’ve seen girls take toothpaste and pj’s even though they’re a day case so confused haha? Hope your op went well ? btw! I’ve got to get magazines yet, last thing I want is to be bored at the hospital, could be there for hours ? xx

I left the key with my mum that’s the only thing! Yeah I heard that you could possibly be kept in if things don’t go well so I took PJ’s and some other bits just in case, I don’t think it happens much day cases having to stay overnight! It went well thank you, I’ve been in so little pain I think I’ve been very very lucky! My admission time was 10am and I didn’t go down until 2 so I had a long time to try and keep myself busy, there was a TV in the room too so watched some of that!

Hey amber good luck with your op! Mine was last Wednesday I had a day case i don’t think you need pjs I didn’t at all soon as you get there your told to put your sexy gown on and the. After the op you keep that on untill your discharged so you just back on what you had to go into the hosp ( loose comfy clothes ) xxxxxx

@samigeorgiex ah! Hopefully a nurse can look after it or something.. I hope I can go home the same day, most probably will be able to 🙂 aw glad to hear your recovery is going well! I will be glad if I have a TV in my room, at least then I can watch jezza or something haha xx
