Iv got my first consultation on monday and im not really sure what to expect. I really want my the op but cant afford so im considering finance. I really dont want to get declined but im only 19, i have a full time job but no credit history also i was wondeing what the average price for BA was? I know the max is 4250…also, how long is the waiting list for the op because id like it doing asap!

Hiya hun, a BA is 4250 for overnight stay and I think its 3950 or 3750 for day case that’s for a standard BA. Your age shouldn’t affect whether you get finance I got it and I just turned 21. You have to work atleast 16 hours a week though. The waiting list isn’t that long it depends on what surgeon you have and what dates they still have available but you should be able to get it done in decemberif you want it soon or january. You have to pay a £500 deposit to secure a date though and you can’t finance that you need to pay min 500 then can finance the rest.

At your initial consultation you will meet with your patient co-ordinator. You will discuss with her what it is your looking to acheive and you can apply for finance then if you want to and also see what dates surgeons have available and book if you have your 500 deposit. If you don’t have the deposit you can still book your surgeon consultation and book an op date later on. She will also show you examples of implants and before and after pics. Xxx

The waitlist is dependant on the surgeon you have, but if you gat accepted for finance and book the BA, you can get a late booking discount.

I’m looking to get mine done on 3rd Jan and have been told that if I wait until december to book it, I will be given a £500 discount. (because I’m going as a day case it means the total I’ll be paying is £3350).

The 1st consultation is about matching you with a suregeon based on what you want to achieve(size and look). They’ll tell you a bit about the operation, you can see some before/after pics and apply for finance if you want to.

It’s a good idea to write any questions you have down…i didn’t and as soon as I got in there I totally blanked and forgot everything I wanted to know!

How can you find out if you can go in as a day case lexi? I really didnt want to have to stay overnight but everything iv read seems to say you have to!! xx

You don’t have to hun its your choice and if your not well enough to go home they will let you stay overnight at no extra cost anyway. You just need to tell your PC that you’d rather be a day case. Best to tell her soon because you’ll probably have an earlier admission time as a day cae so you need to make sure you get a day slot on your date xx

They offered me the option of both…but if you go in as a day case, they ask that you stay in a hotel near the hospital overnight.

I guess if you live near the hospital they would be ok with you going home
